HBO Max’s Half Man Is an Instant Global Streaming Hit

HBO premiered the new limited series Half Man last Thursday. Created by Richard Gadd, who won an Emmy for Baby Reindeer, the show is also available to stream and has quickly become popular with viewers.

The TV show Half Man is quickly gaining popularity, currently ranking as the 5th most-watched show on HBO Max, according to FlixPatrol. It’s right behind the Steve Carell comedy Rooster at number four. The top three spots are held by well-established hits: Euphoria is number one after the premiere of its third season, followed by The Pitt at number two, and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage – a spin-off of The Big Bang Theory – at number three.

Half Man Release New Episodes on Thursdays

The new series Half Man has six episodes, with a new one released every Thursday until May 28th. It’s already receiving positive reviews, currently holding a 74% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, with audiences closely agreeing at 72%. Critics at The Guardian called the show “bleak and brilliant” and gave it a perfect 5/5 rating, while Mashable described it as “gripping, emotional, complex, and upsetting.”

Gadd created, wrote, and stars in Half Man. The cast also features Jamie Bell, Stuart Campbell, Mitchell Robertson, Neve McIntosh, Marianne McIvor, Charlie De Melo, Bilal Hasna, Julie Cullen, Amy Manson, Anjli Mohindra, Tim Downie, Tom Andrews, Philippine Velge, Stuart McQuarrie, Sandy Batchelor, Piers Ewart, and Scot Greenan.

Alongside Sophie Gardiner, Anna O’Malley, Gaynor Holmes (for the BBC), and Gavin Smith (for BBC Scotland), Nicola Gadd is an executive producer on the series. Tally Garner and Morven Reid also serve as executive producers for Mam Tor Productions.
