After 4 Years, Underrated Crunchyroll Isekai Reveals New Look for Season 2 Return

After a four-year wait, a popular fantasy anime now available on Crunchyroll has released a trailer for its second season, promising a fresh new look. Crunchyroll has already delivered a lot of fantasy anime this year, and plans to offer even more in the future. This particular show flew under the radar for many after its initial season, but the new season is hoping to change that.

I just saw the first trailer for Season 2 of Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mobs! It’s been four years since the first season ended, and it looks like they’ve given the anime a significant visual upgrade. The trailer also confirms that many of the original cast members are returning. You can find the trailer and a new poster below – it definitely looks promising!

Trapped in a Dating Sim Season 2 Releases First Trailer Ahead of July 2026 Release

The second season of Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mobs is planned to premiere in July 2026. While an exact release date and details about where to watch outside of Japan haven’t been revealed yet, you can currently stream the first season on Crunchyroll. Kazuya Miura will once again direct, with ENGI handling animation. Kenta Ihara is writing the scripts and Masahiko Suzuki is in charge of character design.

Returning to lend their voices to the show are Takeo Otsuka as Leon, Kana Ichinose as Olivia, Fairouz Ai as Angelica, Ayane Sakura as Marie, Akira Ishida as Luxion, Kenichi Suzumura as Julius Rapha Holfort, Kosuke Toriumi as Jilk Fia Marmoria, Shinnosuke Tachibana as Brad Fou Field, Koji Yusa as Chris Fia Arclight, and Nobuyuki Hiyama as Greg Fou Seberg. A new trailer features these actors, and while the show’s visuals have changed somewhat, it still maintains a familiar feel.

Why You Should Watch Trapped in a Dating Sim

Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mobs is a refreshing take on the popular Isekai genre. The story follows an office worker who is reborn into a fantasy world based on a dating sim game he used to play. Unfortunately, he isn’t one of the heroes; he’s a minor character, a ‘Mob’, in the background. In this world ruled by women, he finds it surprisingly difficult to simply live a quiet life and must work his way up from nothing.

While not the most popular isekai anime, a loyal fanbase is excited for its return. The story took an interesting turn halfway through, pitting the main character, Leon, against another person who was reincarnated, and the next season will explore this conflict further.
