James Gunn Gives Official Updates on 2 DCU TV Shows (& Fuels Theories About 1 of DC’s Most Powerful Heroes)

The DC Universe (DCU) is moving forward quickly with new films like Supergirl and Clayface coming out this year, and production is starting on the next Superman movie, Man of Tomorrow. Fans have been wanting news about other previously announced projects, and now some updates are here. Unfortunately, The Authority has been cancelled, but there’s exciting news for fans of Booster Gold and Paradise Lost.

A fan on Threads inquired about the progress of the announced Booster Gold and Paradise Lost series. James Gunn confirmed both are still being developed, stating Booster Gold is ‘in development’ and Paradise Lost is in ‘extreme development.’ When asked if ‘extreme development’ was good news, Gunn explained that projects with active writers’ rooms are the ones furthest along.

Okay, so there’s good news about the Booster Gold series! There was a bit of a scare earlier this year – rumors were flying around that it had been canceled after the writer of Our Flag Means Death, Dan Jenkins, wiped his social media posts about it. He quickly set the record straight though, saying it was still happening. This update is especially reassuring because a few months back, James Gunn himself shot down rumors that Paradise Lost was also dead. It’s all looking pretty positive now, like things are actually moving forward, which is great to hear as a DC fan!

The Paradise Lost Update Prompts Fresh Rumors About Adria Arjona’s Man of Tomorrow Casting

Recent news about two upcoming DC series has excited fans, but it’s also brought renewed attention to the mystery surrounding Adria Arjona’s role in the Man of Tomorrow movie. When Arjona was cast, her character wasn’t revealed, and while many believe she’s playing Maxima, some fans speculate she’s actually Wonder Woman. They think Maxima might just be a false name to conceal her true identity.

Rumors intensified after Arjona posted a training video on Instagram, leading fans to believe she’s being considered for the role of Wonder Woman. News that the Paradise Lost project is progressing quickly has only fueled these speculations. Considering the expected release schedule, Man of Tomorrow is likely to come out before Paradise Lost. If Arjona does end up playing Wonder Woman, introducing her in Man of Tomorrow could be a way to set up the events for Paradise Lost. Since details about both projects are scarce, this casting choice seems plausible, and one film could naturally lead into the other.
