Dawnwalker Is PS5’s Most Promising RPG, Chomps Down on September Release Date

I’m so excited! The game, The Blood of Dawnwalker (I’m just calling it Dawnwalker from now on, it’s way easier!), finally has a release date on PS5! I’ve been waiting for this!

Despite some scepticism, Dawnwalker will launch this year, on the 3rd September.

If you haven’t heard, this marks the start of a new role-playing game series from Rebel Wolves – a brand new studio in Warsaw founded by developers who previously worked at CD Projekt Red.

The game was first revealed in early 2024, and although it had interesting ideas, it wasn’t very polished at first. Fortunately, each new look at the game has shown noticeable progress, and the most recent demonstration continues that positive trend.

Dawnwalker is a promising adventure game where your choices matter. You play as Coen, who has a limited time to save his family from a dangerous vampire cult.

Every choice you make truly feels significant, as the story unfolds differently based on your decisions and the quests you undertake. You’ll also face tough moral dilemmas, because Coen has the option to use powerful, but potentially dangerous, vampire abilities to achieve his objectives.

Don’t worry, this isn’t a strict time limit. It works more like the calendar in the game Persona, where time only progresses when you finish tasks or do specific things.

Outside of completing quests, you’re welcome to explore a rather large world. Dawnwalker doesn’t have a huge open world, but you can freely roam the medieval city and the countryside around it at your own speed.

The gameplay shown includes a good amount of fighting. You play as Coen, who is skilled with a sword but also transforms into a powerful night creature. Players can customize his abilities by unlocking skills in a detailed skill tree, allowing for a personalized playstyle.
