The manga Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, created by Gege Akutami and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, finished its run in March 2026, with the final volume available on May 1st. Currently, the volumes are only available in Japanese, and English translations will likely take several months to be released. To celebrate the ending, a special anime teaser from MAPPA was released, strongly suggesting an anime adaptation is coming. Modulo has quickly become a major success of the 2020s, thanks to the popularity of the original Jujutsu Kaisen and the sequel’s surprising blend of sci-fi themes. Therefore, an anime adaptation by MAPPA is highly anticipated and expected to happen in the future.
MAPPA has been animating Jujutsu Kaisen since the first season, and the anime adaptation is a major reason for the series’ incredible popularity. Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of the biggest anime and manga franchises of the 2020s, and its popularity continues to grow even after the main storyline concluded in September 2024.
When to Expect an Anime Adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo?
The anime sequel for Jujutsu Kaisen will likely be announced once the current story arc finishes. The series is expected to conclude the Culling Game arc next year, then move into a final arc culminating in a showdown with Ryomen Sukuna. Despite a full workload, MAPPA is making the anime a priority because of its popularity. Following the main story’s end, we can anticipate an anime adaptation of Modulo, which will likely be a short series of around ten episodes, as the source material is only 25 chapters long. The promotional video suggests MAPPA intends to create a high-quality adaptation.
There’s no news yet on how MAPPA will animate the final story arc, though many fans are hoping for a movie. While the anime adaptation from Modulo might be a ways off, fans can read the manga on the Manga Plus app. We’re also expecting news this year about the English release of the manga volumes, which will include extra artwork and character details.
