Kendall Jenner Unveils Huge Wings During Secret Met Gala Outfit Change

Kendall Jenner held out on revealing her full Met Gala 2026 look until she was inside.

The stunning ivory dress and unique bodice worn by the Kardashian star on the Met Gala steps wasn’t the whole look. She later revealed a dramatic addition – large angel wings – once inside the party. The outfit was a collaboration between GapStudio and designer Zac Posen. (See all the celebrity looks here.)

Following the evening’s “Fashion Is Art” theme, the outfit included a striking detachable piece: a large print of the “Winged Victory of Samothrace” statue that stretched nearly across the red carpet. The dress itself, dyed with tea, was designed to resemble the flowing, draped fabric seen in the famous statue, also called “Nike of Samothrace.”

As a lifestyle expert, I always say that truly great fashion isn’t just about the clothes themselves—it’s about how they interact with you. Designer Zac Posen really hit the nail on the head when he explained that fashion truly becomes art when it connects with the body. It’s not about something on a person, but something with them—the wearer actually becomes part of the artistic expression.

The design began with a simple white T-shirt, but through careful shaping and layering, it transformed into a dynamic, almost lifelike piece. The final result feels flowing and free, like it’s moving with the wind and inspired by the ocean.

Kendall didn’t just have one outfit change that night. After the charity event, she changed again, removing the outer layer of her dress and wearing only the nude-colored corset to the after-party.

The revealing bodice was custom-made to perfectly fit Kendall Jenner’s figure. Zac Posen explained to Vogue that they created a 3D scan of her body to build a mannequin and mold for the corset worn underneath the outfit.

And for Kendall, the piece “came together so perfectly.”

It’s been wonderful watching him work,” the supermodel shared. “I love seeing him think and create – it’s really inspiring. I enjoy being involved in every stage of the project.”
