Daredevil: Born Again season 3 release date speculation and latest news

Good news for Daredevil fans! Season three of ‘Born Again’ is coming to Disney+, so you won’t have to worry about that surprising ending going unresolved.

The second season of Daredevil ended with a major showdown between Daredevil and Kingpin that moved from the shadows onto the streets of New York City. The conflict reached its peak with a large-scale riot right in front of the city’s main courthouse.

The recent finale raised a lot of questions about what happens next, and some answers have already appeared in leaked set photos. Be careful if you don’t want spoilers – details are included below.

Charlie Cox, who first played Daredevil nearly ten years ago in the Netflix series, recently shared with Entertainment Weekly that the upcoming episodes will have a different feel than previous seasons.

He admitted he hadn’t read everything, but said it feels like a fresh start after the time of Mayor Fisk. While it’s still part of the same story, it feels like a new chapter is beginning, with a slightly different tone.

“I can’t give anything away, but it’s a new thing, which is fun.”

Daredevil: Born Again season 3 release date speculation

A release date for Daredevil: Born Again season 3 hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s currently planned to premiere around March 2027.

As a big fan, I’ve been really impressed that Born Again hasn’t made me wait ages between seasons like a lot of shows do these days. It’s only been about a year between releases, and that’s largely thanks to Disney+ giving the green light for more seasons early on – they actually renewed it twice in advance, which is awesome!

This raises the question: will the streaming service renew the show for a fourth season, or will it end after three?

While overall audience size will probably be the biggest indicator of success, it’s hard to know exactly how well Born Again is doing because Disney+ doesn’t release detailed streaming numbers publicly.

The show hasn’t yet made it into the top 10 most-streamed shows in North America, according to Nielsen ratings. In the UK, on Disney+, it’s facing strong competition from series like The Testaments and Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair.

Despite this, the Marvel show Wonder Man also didn’t seem to do very well based on the same data, but it was still renewed for another season earlier this year. This shows that the studio’s own goals and how critics react also play a role in these decisions.

Daredevil: Born Again season 3 cast – rumoured and returning

Charlie Cox is returning as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer and crime-fighting vigilante known as Daredevil, for the third season of Daredevil: Born Again. He will be the main star of the show, continuing his portrayal of the character who lives a double life in Hell’s Kitchen.

In the second season, Cox was joined by Krysten Ritter, who reprised her role as the troubled and sharp-witted private investigator Jessica Jones, marking another reunion with a familiar face from the Marvel Netflix series.

The show’s fanbase is continuing to grow, and the recent season finale offered a quick look at Mike Colter reprising his role as Luke Cage, returning from an unknown mission overseas.

Interestingly, Finn Jones, who previously played Iron Fist, was recently seen on the set of Daredevil: Born Again. This has led to speculation that we might see a reunion of the Defenders team, which briefly appeared together in a Netflix series a few years ago.

Iron Fist was the least popular of the Marvel/Netflix series, and Luke Cage suffered a bit because of it. It will be interesting to see if the new Daredevil series, Born Again, can help make up for those earlier disappointments.

The upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series will reportedly feature Deborah Ann Woll returning as Karen Page, Matt Murdock’s friend and love interest. Margarita Levieva will also appear as Heather Glenn, Matt’s former girlfriend, and it seems her character will transform into the dangerous villain known as Muse.

A recent on-set photo suggests that Zabryna Guevara’s character, Sheila Rivera, will be a candidate for Mayor of New York City in the third season of Born Again. This comes after Wilson Fisk’s dramatic downfall.

However, she might not want to get too settled, as Vincent D’Onofrio has also been seen filming in New York City. He’s grown a thick beard, suggesting his character, Fisk, is trying to stay unnoticed.

Wilson Bethel and Arty Froushan are likely to return as their characters, the ruthless killers Benjamin Poindexter and Buck Cashman. Matthew Lillard is also expected to reprise his role as Mr. Charles, based on how his story ended in the second season.

We don’t know for sure yet if Genneya Walton will return as BB Urich, who was last shown moving into her uncle’s former office at the New York Bulletin. However, we do know that Michael Gandolfini has finished playing Daniel Blake, a key source who met a tragic end.

Here’s an overview of the key players in the Daredevil: Born Again cast ahead of season 3:

  • Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil
  • Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin
  • Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page
  • Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn
  • Wilson Bethel as Benjamin ‘Dex’ Poindexter / Bullseye
  • Zabryna Guevara as Sheila Rivera
  • Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman
  • Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones
  • Mike Colter as Luke Cage
  • Finn Jones as Danny Rand / Iron Fist

Daredevil: Born Again season 3 plot theories

The third season of Daredevil: Born Again will continue the story immediately after the dramatic ending of the last season, where Matt Murdock was arrested for being Daredevil.

In a shocking moment in court, Matt Murdock publicly revealed himself as the masked hero of Hell’s Kitchen, hoping to finally defeat Wilson Fisk. This bold move could come at a great personal cost.

Unfortunately, it seems the attempt to eliminate Fisk failed, as photos from the set indicate he’ll be involved in season 3 of Born Again. Will he be able to rebuild his power once again after losing everything?

There’s also a confusing mystery surrounding Mr. Charles, a shadowy character connected to individuals far more influential than Kingpin, and it needs to be explained.

It appears he’s leading a secret operation involving people with superpowers, and it’s already pulled in Luke Cage and Bullseye. Matt might be his next target, possibly as a way to avoid jail time.

With Matt Murdock facing legal trouble, his former colleagues have emerged from the shadows. In season 3, Jessica Jones is joined by Luke Cage and Danny Rand, also known as Iron Fist.

Luckily, New York City will still have someone watching over it while Matt is away, because new dangers are bound to appear. This includes Heather Glenn, who is becoming increasingly unstable and might even start acting as the villain known as Muse.

After season 3 of Marvel’s ‘Born Again,’ people are likely to wonder what’s next for the heroes who operate on a more personal, street-level scale. The possible reunion of The Defenders could lead to discussions about more spin-off shows or even another series featuring the team working together.

It’ll be exciting to see if future episodes bring back other heroes we haven’t seen yet, like Misty Knight (played by Simone Missick in Luke Cage), Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick from Iron Fist), or Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson from Daredevil).

Claire appeared briefly in a scene during the second season of Born Again, when Matt thought about reaching out to her. However, Dawson may be too occupied with filming the Disney+ series Ahsoka to return to the role.
