reMarkable recently launched its newest tablet, the reMarkable Paper Pure.
This new device builds on the popular reMarkable 2, a digital notebook known for its paper-like experience. It retains the features of the original, letting you convert handwriting to text, annotate PDFs, and bring in documents from services like Google Drive and OneDrive.
It also offers new features like the ability to search handwritten notes, automatically create meeting summaries, and send information to Slack. Plus, it’s been redesigned to be lighter and larger, and now has improved battery life.
After the launch, reMarkable’s Chief Product Officer, Mats Herding Solberg, noted that while technology encourages speed, we still naturally reach for pen and paper when it’s time to be creative.
That’s why we created reMarkable Paper Pure – to bridge the gap between thinking and working, something only a paper tablet can do. It’s a fresh start for your ideas, letting you capture thoughts easily and move them between your tablet and computer without disrupting your process.
This new tablet will replace the older reMarkable 2 model. It will be available for purchase alongside the reMarkable Paper Pro and Paper Pro Move, which both feature color screens.
Mats Herding Solberg explained that reMarkable Paper Pure was created to make the popular reMarkable writing experience available to a wider audience.
As a total tech and movie buff, I’m really seeing what reMarkable is building here. With the new Paper Pro and Paper Pro Move joining the lineup, they’ve officially moved past the reMarkable 2 and are now a full family of next-gen paper tablets. It’s cool because whether you’re after all the bells and whistles – like a color screen, front light, and the newest tech – or you just want a fantastic digital notebook, there’s a reMarkable Paper tablet that fits the bill.

What is the reMarkable Paper Pure UK release date?
The new reMarkable Paper Pure is now available, starting today, Wednesday, May 6th, 2026. It replaces the older reMarkable 2 model, which is no longer being made.
How much does the reMarkable Paper Pure cost?
The reMarkable Paper Pure is available starting at £359, which includes the tablet and Marker pen. This is £40 less expensive than the reMarkable 2.
It’s also available for £399 with the Marker Plus pen, which includes a built-in eraser, and a protective Sleeve Folio case. You can choose from three new colours: Ocean Blue, Mist Green, and Desert Pink.
reMarkable Paper Pure design

Similar to the reMarkable 2, the reMarkable Paper Pure has a black and white screen, but it’s slightly larger – 10.8 inches compared to the previous model’s 10.3 inches.
It’s now lighter, weighing in at just 360 grams, and features grooved sides designed to mimic the feel of holding paper. The screen uses the same high-quality textured surface as the reMarkable Paper Pro, providing a natural pen-on-paper writing experience, and the delay between writing and seeing it on screen remains a quick 21 milliseconds.
The reMarkable Paper Pure is their most eco-friendly device yet, made with 38% recycled materials and generating 45% less carbon than the reMarkable 2. This improvement extends to its components: the battery contains 100% recycled lithium and cobalt, the frame is made with 90% recycled magnesium, and the rear cover uses 73% recycled plastic.
reMarkable Paper Pure new features
Similar to other reMarkable tablets, the Paper Pure lets you write notes by hand and then turn them into typed text. It also works as a PDF annotator, e-reader, and a central hub for organizing files from services like Google Drive and OneDrive.
However, the device also has a series of new features such as:
- Exclusive templates: In addition to the dozens of built-in note-taking templates available on reMarkable Paper Pure, subscribers also get access to hundreds of additional templates, including planners, workbooks, and more.
- Create meeting notes: Link reMarkable Paper Pure to Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook, and the paper tablet can create meeting notes pre-filled with information with a tap, reducing time spent preparing for meetings.
- Convert to notebook: Import documents from Microsoft Word and OneDrive, Dropbox, and Google Drive, and reMarkable Paper Pure turns them into paper tablet-native text documents, perfect for reading and marking up with a pen.
- Handwriting search: Search the contents of handwritten and typed notes, making it easy to find anything on reMarkable Paper Pure.
- Convert and share: Turn handwriting and sketches into an editable, sharable web note in a browser. AI turns handwriting into text, summarises, and suggests action items.
- Send to Slack and Send to Miro: Share handwritten notes to Slack or Miro, where AI works behind the scenes to convert handwriting and sketches into text.
