Video game sales figures are usually only shared when they reach significant numbers or are remarkably high. Otherwise, we have to depend on charts and educated guesses to get an idea of how well a game is performing.
Saros, Sony’s newest PlayStation 5 game, came out a few days ago on April 30th, 2026. This is where we stand with it now.
Based on the information available so far, it would appear the game has had a somewhat slow start.
The PlayStation Blog recently revealed the best-selling games on the PS Store for April. Saros came in at number 11 in North America and number 17 in Europe.
Okay, so the game only launched in April, and even with the Digital Deluxe Edition giving some players a 48-hour head start, the sales numbers haven’t been amazing. It just didn’t have a super strong start, honestly.
Look, big game launches always have a huge rush of sales at the beginning, but they usually drop off pretty quickly after that. So, honestly, I don’t think we’ll see it doing much better in the charts next month.
Saros entered the UK’s physical games chart at number three, following Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition.
Actually, Saros is doing quite well – it’s currently the top new release for PS5 games on Amazon, so things aren’t as bad as they seem.
It’s important to remember that every game has different sales goals. Sony isn’t expecting Housemarque’s new game to sell as much as a blockbuster like Marvel’s Spider-Man. Considering the game cost around €70 million to make, it won’t need to sell as many copies to become profitable.
We’ll need to wait for official sales figures to understand how well Saros is doing, as that’s the only way to get a clear picture right now.
In April, the PlayStation Store’s most popular games were sports titles MLB The Show 26 and EA Sports FC 26. Other well-performing games included Pragmata and Crimson Desert. Starfield landed in fifth place in the US charts and fourth in Europe.
