After eleven years, the popular manga series Black Clover has finished its run in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The final volume has been scheduled for release. The series began its final story arc in 2023, with creator Yuki Tabata releasing new chapters periodically in Jump GIGA over the past three years. The story concludes with Asta and his friends looking towards a hopeful future.
Now that the Black Clover manga has finished and a new anime season is coming, the final volume release date in Japan has been announced. Volume 38, which includes the last 12 chapters (potentially split into multiple parts), will be available in Japan on August 4th, according to the series’ official social media. A release date for other countries hasn’t been announced yet.

In a final message to fans after releasing the last chapter of Black Clover, creator Yuki Tabata expressed deep gratitude for their support. He said he was able to finish the series thanks to the readers who stuck with it and hopes to continue delivering enjoyable content in the future. While the manga has concluded, the Black Clover franchise isn’t over – the anime is scheduled to return later this year, which is exciting news for fans after its five-year break, especially considering the series ended on a major cliffhanger.
A second season of Black Clover is planned for release this year, though an exact date hasn’t been announced. Current estimates suggest it will likely premiere in Fall 2026, as the Summer 2026 schedule is almost here and little information about the new episodes has been revealed. Details about returning cast and crew are also still unknown, but more news is expected soon.
What to Know for Black Clover Season 2

Season 2 of Black Clover doesn’t have a release date yet, but Crunchyroll has announced it will stream new episodes as soon as they premiere in Japan. The first season concluded in 2021 with episode 170, which focused on Asta and Liebe training to become stronger. Now, after being attacked by the Dark Triad from the Spade Kingdom, the Magic Knights are gearing up for a rematch and striving to improve their skills.
The anime finished by hinting at upcoming battles with the Dark Triad, but had to stop production because it was catching up to the manga. Now that the manga is complete and has several major storylines left to adapt, Black Clover has enough material for the anime to continue and finish the story properly.
