Travis Kelce Reveals How Taylor Swift Has Made Him “More of a Man”

Travis Kelce is the man, actually—and that’s thanks to Taylor Swift.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has definitely started being more adventurous with food, especially when trying new things with his fiancée.

Travis admitted on his podcast, New Heights, that he’s been making an effort to seem more mature around his girlfriend, even trying new foods to do so.

Both his brother, Jason Kelce, and sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, are happy with the positive changes the 36-year-old has made.

Jason said Taylor has helped Kylie try new and different foods, and Kylie agreed, saying he’s become more willing to experiment with what he eats.

Jason admitted he’s been especially thankful for Taylor expanding his brother’s averse appetite.

Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce said on his podcast, New Heights, in 2024 that his wife, Taylor Swift, is planning to introduce Travis Kelce to new foods.

Jason added, “It’s one of the greatest things I’ve been happy about.”

And Travis was all about the experimentation with new cuisines, like Indian food.

I’m still a bit of a picky eater, to be honest,” Travis said. “But I’m also happy to let loose and dance.

Even though the Super Bowl champion is improving, getting the right consistency is still challenging. They mentioned they’re currently working on a mild curry.

Plus, Travis admitted that he really did want to be more interested in different types of food.

“It’s not even judging,” he said of the cuisines. “It’s just, like, a mental block.”

You know, it’s been fascinating to watch Travis Kelce since he and Taylor Swift became a couple. He’s shared that being with Taylor has actually sparked a curiosity in him – he’s finding himself paying more attention to the little things and really wanting to understand why things are the way they are. Travis shared on Kylie’s podcast, Not Gonna Lie, in February that Taylor has really helped him focus on the small things. He explained, “Details! You get the details.”

He described a typical day, like the podcast party he attended yesterday, where he spent the whole time greeting people he knew and fellow Taylor Swift fans from the football community. He found himself constantly reminding himself who he’d already spoken to, making a mental note of each conversation.

Indeed, Travis is remembering it all too well.

He playfully said he was mentally saving those details, joking that he needed to remember them because she hadn’t been able to experience it herself and would likely ask about it later.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce first connected in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour came to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Being a big fan of Taylor Swift, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wanted to give her a friendship bracelet with his jersey number on it while at her concert. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to reach her because she was busy getting ready for the show.

On the July 26th episode of his podcast, New Heights, Travis explained he was a little upset that he didn’t get to talk to Taylor before or after her concerts. He understood she needed to conserve her voice for singing all 44 songs, but he had made her friendship bracelets and was hoping to give her one.

After jokingly talking about dropping the ball – something he’d later call incredibly cool – Travis decided to take a chance and invited the famous singer to come see the Chiefs play at their home stadium.

He explained on The Pat McAfee Show that he challenged Taylor Swift, saying he’d seen her perform at Arrowhead Stadium and suggested she come see him perform there too, to see whose concert was more exciting. He added that they’ll see if anything comes of it soon.

Travis had grown a mustache, first showing it off in August during football training camp, and that’s how Taylor first met him.

He later recalled that his mustache and number 87 jersey were a memorable look during that time, and he was wearing them when he first met Taylor.

According to a source familiar with the matter, Travis and Taylor began communicating via text and phone calls around the beginning of September, as reported by TopMob News.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

I was so excited to hear Taylor accepted Travis’ invitation! She went to Arrowhead Stadium to cheer him and the Chiefs on as they played the Bears, and I loved seeing her there with Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce. Then, after the game, pictures surfaced of them being super affectionate at a bar nearby – it was honestly the cutest thing ever! It seems like things are really heating up between them, and I’m thrilled for both of them.

Despite rumors that they met face-to-face for the first time, the singer of “Karma” later explained that they had actually known each other for quite a while before that.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

To show how serious things were getting, Taylor brought a group of her close friends—including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski—to see the Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from NFL games. This could be another indication that Taylor and Travis are a couple.

The couple showcased their relationship on television with a surprise appearance on the October 14th episode of Saturday Night Live. They continued the fun with the show’s after-party and a romantic dinner at the Waverly Inn.

During his team’s break, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform on her Eras Tour. At the November 11th concert in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and Taylor even gave him a special mention from the stage.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following the performance, Taylor Swift reportedly rushed backstage to greet Travis Kelce with a warm and affectionate kiss.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told Time that she’s excited to support him doing what he’s passionate about, and they’re both there for each other, regardless of who else is around. This is the opposite of having to hide their relationship and go to great lengths to keep it secret.

 

The famous singer made Travis’s game on December 17th a family event, bringing her father along to support her boyfriend.

Taylor and Travis celebrated New Year’s Eve together and shared a kiss at midnight on January 1st.

I was so happy to see Taylor continuing to get close with Travis’ family! She spent time with his brother, Jason Kelce, and his wife, Kylie, at the Chiefs game against the Bills. It’s just really sweet to see them all getting along and supporting Travis!

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and secured their place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field. They celebrated with a kiss and then told each other ‘I love you’.

The couple went on two dates in New York City over the weekend before 2025, and they coordinated their outfits for both of them.

They spent the NFL off-season together, taking a snowy trip to Montana with sportscaster Erin Andrews.

In July 2025, Travis shared the first photos of him and Taylor together on Instagram. One cute picture, taken during dinner, also happened to show that they both had photos of each other as their phone lockscreens.

During the episode, she openly shared details about her life with Travis, both publicly and privately, and announced her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which will be released on October 3rd.

Over two years after Travis mentioned Taylor on his podcast, sparking widespread excitement, the couple announced their engagement. In a playful nod to Taylor’s song “So High School,” they shared a photo of their engagement on Instagram with the caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

Taylor Swift’s twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, was recorded while she was on the Eras Tour. The album features songs referencing her relationship with Travis Kelce, including “The Fate of Ophelia,” which contained hidden clues for fans, and the playfully suggestive “Wood,” where she sings about him being the key to her affection.
