Disney+ has released a sneak peek at its upcoming series, Alice and Steve, which stars Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement.
The new series, from the makers of Baby Reindeer, will debut on Disney+ and Hulu on June 8th. It stars Fiona Walker and Nat Clement as Alice and Steve, two best friends whose relationship falls apart when Steve begins dating—and eventually sleeps with—Alice’s daughter. Described as an “anti-romantic comedy” or “wrong-com,” the show offers a darkly humorous take on relationships.
The latest trailer shows the beginning of the end for their friendship, as Steve starts a romantic relationship with Izzy (played by Yali Topol Margalith, known from “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder”), who is nearly thirty years younger than him.
In the video, Alice angrily tells Steve she hopes he falls from a window, is impaled by his own railing, and that nobody attends his funeral, after she finds something disturbing.
When Izzy brought Steve around her friends, they didn’t seem very excited about him. One of them even commented that he was too old.
