New PS5 Survival Horror Game Takes Silent Hill Gameplay to the Future

Headware Games, a one-person development team, is releasing Hollowbody on PS5 next month. The game launched on PC earlier in 2024 and received “very positive” feedback from players on Steam.

This survival horror game is inspired by Silent Hill, but takes place in a near-future version of Britain. Players control a black market shipper searching for their partner in a ruined city. When her vehicle crashes inside a dangerous restricted area, she’s left stranded and must survive with very few supplies.

The game’s announcement trailer shows off updated graphics alongside familiar interaction prompts reminiscent of classic Silent Hill and early Resident Evil titles. While the camera isn’t rigidly fixed, the game still evokes the feel of PlayStation 1-era games, creating a unique and appealing visual style.

The PS5 version of the game includes everything from the original release, plus all the updates and enhancements made to the PC version over the last year and a half – like new puzzles, areas to explore, and general improvements to make the game more enjoyable. You can pre-order it today on the PS Store for $16.99, and PlayStation Plus members get a 15% discount. It will be available on June 5th, 2026.

Metacritic gave the game a score of 74. Noisy Pixel rated it 8 out of 10, praising its detailed and immersive world, even though they noted some unevenness in the combat and puzzles. They recommend it to fans of the genre.
