Number One Fan ending: Lucy Logan left in limbo following unsettling twist

*Contains major spoilers for Number One Fan*

Just as Lucy Logan seemed to be recovering from the fallout of her involvement in Ben Hughes’s death, revealed in ‘Number One Fan,’ Donna Hughes swiftly asserted her dominance.

It seemed like Lucy was finally safe after Donna and her accomplice falsely accused Stewart Jones, a former talk show host, of kidnapping her. This accusation was motivated by revenge – Donna’s brother had died by suicide following an appearance on Stewart’s program.

Donna was relieved that Lucy had finally admitted what she did after the video came out. Now, Stewart would face a long prison sentence for his part in the events.

But Lucy’s relief at returning to the Lucy Logan Live couch was short-lived.

Number One Fan ending explained

Lucy not only surprisingly saved her reputation, but Donna also got her own part on the show, which viewers really enjoyed. However, trouble started again quickly.

Okay, so Donna just dropped the bombshell on live TV that Stewart got his sentence, and it was intense. Lucy quickly mentioned the emotional abuse – she called it ‘gaslighting and bullying’ – she went through working for him, and said she’d tell everything later. Honestly, that little comment immediately set Donna off. You could see she was not happy about Lucy even hinting at that stuff right then and there.

She really laid it on the line during our argument. She told me I’d already committed to something and couldn’t take it back, and then she gave me a very direct warning – she made it clear she wouldn’t tolerate any trouble from me. It was pretty intense.

But Lucy ignored the warning and had Donna’s contract terminated.

“Do you wish things could be like they were before I messed everything up?” she asked, her voice filled with anger. “I thought it meant something when you said you were responsible for Ben’s death, but I see now it was just an act, wasn’t it?”

Lucy attempted to backtrack, but Donna cut her off by asking someone named Luke to join them.

In a shocking turn of events, “Luke” turned out to be Vince—the same young man Lucy’s son, Jacob, had been spending time with, and who was also Ben’s son.

Vince tricked Jacob into thinking he cared for him romantically, then convinced him to join environmental protests. These protests escalated dangerously, leading Jacob to agree to set a fire that severely injured a security guard, leaving them in a coma with an uncertain future.

Donna really stressed how incredibly serious a terrorist attack is. She explained that even though someone like Jacob is only sixteen, the worst possible punishment is life in prison. It’s scary to think about, but she made it very clear – the consequences are huge, no matter your age.

“I think you know what I’m saying, Lucy.”

Suddenly, Lucy understood the gravity of the situation. A single mistake could ruin Jacob’s life, and ultimately, her own as well.

While Number One Fan ends here, Lucy’s ordeal is far from over.

Number One Fan is available to watch on 5.
