James Cartwright, who plays a role in Coronation Street, has hinted at future developments in the mystery surrounding Theo Silverton’s murder.
Theo, known for his abusive behavior towards Todd Grimshaw in the long-running storyline on Coronation Street, was discovered dead in an alley in early May.
Investigators are now looking for who committed the murder, and several people had strong motives for wanting the victim dead, as they were known to be unkind and controlling.
At the BAFTA Television Awards in London this Sunday, actor James Cartwright hinted to TopMob that he knows how his character dies on the show, and the reveal will be surprising for viewers.
“If I told you, I’d have to kill you. Is that a price you’re willing to pay?” he joked.

Theo described his departure storyline as exciting and said he felt honored and lucky to have been part of the show while it was so successful.
It was a really clever setup because there were two big mysteries. First, figuring out who would be the victim, and then figuring out who committed the crime. It was like getting two puzzles for the price of one.
He hinted at upcoming surprises, saying, “It’s been a thrilling experience working on the show, and the person you expect isn’t the one involved.”
It might have happened in the summer. It’s a bit of a stretch, but she could have struck him with a can of beans and then left him behind the store.

Okay, so the list of suspects in Theo’s murder is getting pretty long! Right now, the police are looking at six people: Todd, who Theo had been causing trouble for a while, George – he’s like a father figure to Todd, then there’s Gary Windass, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, and even Theo’s ex-wife, Danielle. It’s a real whodunnit!
The investigation is now underway on screen, with each suspect being hauled in for questioning.
Will one of them crack under pressure? Or will they manage to keep the secret buried?
Coronation Street airs weekdays from 8.30pm on ITV and from 7am on ITVX.
