Apparently, Square Enix is deciding between revealing it at D23 (August 16-28), Tokyo Game Show (September 17-21), or The Game Awards (December 10). The rumor suggests D23 and Tokyo Game Show are the most likely options, with The Game Awards serving as a backup plan if timing or the development team’s readiness doesn’t align with those earlier events. It doesn’t seem like getting a spot at The Game Awards is the issue, just whether it makes sense with the overall schedule.
The rumor originated from a leaker on the Reset Era forum, so it’s likely unreliable and should be viewed with skepticism. Square Enix hasn’t responded to requests for comment, and we don’t anticipate they will. However, we’ll update this story if that changes.
