The upcoming season 3 finale of Euphoria is set to break a major record for HBO.
Season 3 of the show premiered last month, continuing the story of Rue, played by Zendaya, as she deals with life in California with her old high school friends, five years after the events of season 2.
HBO has announced that the season 3 finale will be 93 minutes long, making it the longest episode the network has ever aired.
The new episode will be longer than any previous installment of both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon. It will exceed the length of Game of Thrones’ longest episode (82 minutes) and the House of the Dragon season finale (73 minutes).
This announcement follows the latest episode of the show’s third season. The episode ended with a dramatic and unsettling cliffhanger, as Rue’s lies were revealed and Alamo, a dangerous arms dealer, began to question her intentions.
The episode ended with a shocking and frightening scene: Alamo’s men made Rue dig her own grave and then buried her alive, up to her neck, before the screen went black.

During the episode, Nate pressured Cassie to send him a lot of money – thousands of dollars, in fact – to help cover his increasing debts.
I was absolutely shocked when I learned what happened to him. Despite trying to sort things out, he couldn’t manage his debts, and things took a really dark turn – he actually lost a finger in a horribly violent scene. It was truly disturbing to watch.
I’m so excited to see so many familiar faces back for season 3! Besides the main group we already knew were returning, Alexa Demie, Hunter Schafer, Chloe Cherry, Dominic Fike, Nika King, and Colman Domingo will all be back too, which is awesome!
