Vin Diesel revealed that Peacock is working on four new TV series based on the Fast & Furious movies.
The Fast and the Furious movie series, which started in 2001, will conclude with its 12th film, Fast Forever, expected to be released in 2028.
Even though the Fast & Furious movies are wrapping up, Vin Diesel has announced that the story will continue as a TV series.
During NBCUniversal’s presentation in New York City on Monday, May 11th, Vin Diesel, known for playing Dominic Toretto in the Fast & Furious films, explained that they’ve recognized fans’ desire for more content over the past ten years.
So, what they really wanted from us was to dig deeper into the established characters, give them more compelling storylines. And honestly, for the past ten years, there’s been a strong push for us to break into television – something Jimmy Fallon has really perfected. It’s been about finding our footing in that world, learning from the best.
Peacock is adding four new shows based on the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise.
Vin Diesel claims four new series are currently being developed, but The Hollywood Reporter states that only one is actually in the works.
Vin Diesel will be an executive producer on the show, alongside Sam Vincent, Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Chris Morgan. Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman will jointly lead the creative direction as co-showrunners.
Plot details for the show are currently being kept under wraps.
