As announced on its Steam page and other platforms, LEGO 2K Drive will no longer be available for purchase digitally starting May 19th.
Honestly, we weren’t very impressed with this game when we first played it almost three years ago, and revisiting it hasn’t changed our minds. It has a nice atmosphere and looks good, and the driving itself feels great, but the artificial intelligence is clunky, making it feel less like a realistic racing game. The story mode didn’t really help things either.
Despite its age, the game has remained popular, and we expect many of you will want to get a copy before it’s no longer available. Online multiplayer will be supported until May 31st, 2027, after which the servers will be shut down. However, you’ll still be able to enjoy the game offline and continue playing as long as you own it.
It’s disappointing when a promising game doesn’t quite live up to its potential due to technical issues, and we hoped for a better experience with this one.
