EA Surprises PS Plus Subscribers With Exclusive Free Gift

Electronic Arts (EA) is giving a free item to PlayStation Plus members on PS5. This offer is only available to those with a PlayStation Plus subscription on the newer console. PS4 subscribers won’t receive the gift, but all PS5 members—including those on the Extra and Premium tiers—are eligible. EA and PlayStation haven’t announced how long this offer will last.

PlayStation Plus members on PS5, regardless of their subscription tier, can now get the Search and Destroy Pack for both Battlefield 6 and Redsec, its free-to-play battle royale mode. The pack includes a variety of cosmetic items like a character skin (“Tactical Surge”), weapon stickers (“Test Fire”), and weapon packages for the M/60 LMG and SGX SMG (“Clean Kill” and “Sureshot” respectively). It also features soldier patches, dog tags, a parachute, player card backgrounds, weapon charms, vehicle decals, and a vehicle skin.

An Exclusive for PS Plus Users

Currently, this bonus pack is only available to PlayStation Plus members. Players on PS5 without a subscription, those using Xbox Series X (even with Xbox Game Pass), and PC gamers haven’t been given the pack for free. The reason for this is unknown, but it seems to be part of a promotional agreement between PlayStation, EA, and the game’s developer, DICE.

In 2025, Battlefield 6 was the top-selling game, and it continues to be popular with over 1.5 million players on PS5 each week. Most of these players need a PS Plus subscription to enjoy the game, as the popular multiplayer mode requires it. Few players are engaging with the single-player campaign in 2026. This suggests that this offer likely appeals to at least one million, and potentially up to two million, PS5 users.

If you’re not familiar, PlayStation Plus has three membership levels. The basic Essential tier costs $10 per month, the Extra tier is $15 per month, and the most comprehensive Premium tier costs $18 per month.
