2026 was a great year for fans of life simulation games, with the releases of both Pokemon Pokopia and Tomodachi Life. There are still plenty of exciting life sims and relaxing games on the way, including the upcoming Early Access release of Paralives. However, one less life sim will be coming to consoles in 2027. Since the game, a major competitor to The Sims 4, requires powerful computers to run, a version for the PlayStation 5 would have been especially helpful for players with less powerful PCs. Unfortunately, inZOI will no longer be released on PS5 in 2026 and will only be available on PC.
For a long time, The Sims 4 has been the dominant game in the life simulation genre. Many players have been hoping for a compelling alternative to play when they need a break from EA’s popular life sim. Initially, inZOI seemed like it could be that alternative, but its incredibly detailed graphics require powerful computers, which excludes many players. While inZOI has done well as an early access game on PC, a large number of potential players are waiting for it to be released on consoles. Unfortunately, the PS5 version of the game has now been delayed until the first half of 2027. Here’s the latest information we have.
inZOI Targeting 2027 Release for PS5 Port Following Delay

inZOI first became available on PC in March 2025 as an Early Access title. It quickly gained a lot of players, peaking at over 87,000 concurrent users soon after release. However, many players who enjoy relaxing, cozy games discovered that their computers weren’t powerful enough to run it smoothly. inZOI’s beautiful graphics demand more from PCs than many similar life simulation games. Additionally, as an Early Access game, it doesn’t yet have the extensive content and options found in established competitors like The Sims. Despite these challenges, inZOI continues to maintain a dedicated player base on Steam, with new content being added regularly.
Lots of players who enjoy relaxing games are eagerly awaiting a console version of inZOI. The developers, inZOI Studio, initially planned to release a PS5 version this year, hoping to gather feedback from PlayStation players through an Early Access release. However, they’ve decided against that plan. While Early Access games sometimes appear on PS5, they’re much more common on PC platforms like Steam. Considering these differences in what players expect, the PS5 release of inZOI has been delayed until the first six months of 2027.

It’s unfortunate news for PS5 fans who’ve been waiting to play inZOI after seeing PC players enjoy it for over a year. However, the reason for the delay could actually improve the game. The developers don’t want to just port the PC version to consoles; they’re aiming to create a version specifically designed to feel great for console players.
Console versions of life simulation games, like The Sims 4, haven’t always been ideal to play. That’s why inZOI Studio is taking the time to carefully design the user interface and controls for the PlayStation 5 version of their game, inZOI, and they’re actively asking PS5 players for their thoughts and what they’d like to see. The developers will also share gameplay videos highlighting the differences between the PC and PS5 versions to gather more feedback. Although inZOI won’t be available on PS5 until after 2026, it seems the extra effort will result in a much-improved experience for console players.
