Sunset Boulevard favourite ‘among stars auditioning to be the next Bond’

Now that the search for the next James Bond is officially underway with auditions happening, Variety reports that one actor is currently being considered.

According to a new report, Tom Francis, a stage actor famous for his role in the recent revival of Sunset Boulevard, is being considered to play the next James Bond. He’s one of the actors who has auditioned for the part in the upcoming film.

According to the report, Francis is among a group of actors auditioning for the role, with Nina Gold managing the casting process.

TopMob has approached Amazon MGM Studios and reps for Francis for comment.

Though many recognize 26-year-old Francis for his role alongside Nicole Scherzinger in Sunset Boulevard, he’s also performed in other shows like What’s New Pussycat? at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre and & Juliet in London’s West End.

He appeared in four episodes of the final season of the Netflix series You and will be in the 2025 Netflix film Jay Kelly. He’s also starring in the upcoming movie The Mosquito Bowl with Nicholas Galitzine and Bill Skarsgård.

It is not currently known who else has taken part in the audition process as of yet.

Cosmo Jarvis, who was previously considered a likely candidate, will not be playing James Bond. A representative for Jarvis confirmed to Variety that he is not being considered for the role and is not auditioning.

Amazon MGM Studios has announced they’ve begun the search for the next James Bond. They won’t be sharing details about the casting process right now, but promise to update fans soon.
