Adam Sandler’s films often become beloved favorites, and for good reason. While he’s acted in many different types of movies – from silly comedies to more dramatic and touching stories – he consistently delivers genuinely enjoyable entertainment. Two prime examples are Grown Ups and its sequel, Grown Ups 2.
It’s official: Grown Ups 3 is happening, making it Adam Sandler’s first ever movie trilogy! This news got us thinking – which of Sandler’s other films are ripe for a follow-up? Here are 5 movies that deserve a sequel, whether they’ve already had one or not.
Murder Mystery

Adam Sandler’s movie Murder Mystery has been successful enough to get a sequel, potentially launching a new series of three films for the actor. Both movies fall into the ‘whodunnit’ mystery genre and, while often silly, are genuinely funny and enjoyable, especially with Sandler and Jennifer Aniston starring together – they make a great comedic duo.
Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston may not be the first comedy pairing you’d expect, but they have amazing chemistry, as they’ve shown in several movies together. It would be fantastic to see them revisit this film and give their characters, Nick and Audrey, even more opportunities for hilarious antics.
Click

Many consider Click to be one of Adam Sandler’s best films, and it’s notably more heartfelt and meaningful than much of his other work. The movie follows Michael Newman, played by Sandler, who obtains a magical remote control that lets him skip over parts of his life he deems uninteresting. While initially appealing, the remote quickly becomes a problem, causing him to unintentionally miss significant and cherished moments.
This movie is exceptional, and making a sequel would be a real challenge – many people would probably argue it’s best left alone. Still, the film’s powerful message is worth exploring again, especially with a modern twist. It’s been two decades since Click came out, and it would be compelling to see a sequel address current issues, like the impact of artificial intelligence.
Just Go With It

In Just Go With It, Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler play coworkers – Aniston’s character, Katherine, works at Sandler’s character Danny’s plastic surgery practice. When Danny starts dating a younger woman, Palmer, he pretends Katherine is his ex-wife to avoid complications. The movie is a funny and heartwarming story that feels like it’s made up on the spot.
Since Sandler and Aniston’s characters ultimately get together, it’d be fun to see what their lives look like years down the road. Honestly, the movie was just so funny and the characters were great, making it a really enjoyable revisit.
Bedtime Stories

Bedtime Stories is a surprisingly good movie from Adam Sandler. It successfully blends his usual humor with a heartwarming story. The film centers around Skeeter, Sandler’s character, who tells bedtime stories that magically begin to happen in real life. This funny idea is brought to life wonderfully by the entire cast.
A sequel to this story would be great! The movie ends with Skeeter and his love interest, Jill, finally together, and it would be interesting to see them years later, maybe with a family, still getting into humorous situations.
50 First Dates

Okay, let’s talk about 50 First Dates. Honestly, I think it’s one of Adam Sandler’s best. He and Drew Barrymore have fantastic chemistry, and the premise is both sweet and heartbreaking. Sandler plays Henry, who falls for Lucy (Barrymore), but she has short-term memory loss. Every single day, she forgets him. The movie doesn’t magically fix that – Lucy still struggles with her memory at the end, meaning Henry has to win her over, again and again. It’s a really touching film, and it avoids the easy, unrealistic cure you might expect.
It would be simple to show how things turned out for the couple down the road, especially now that we know they have a daughter. Some people might argue that the movie is perfect as it is and doesn’t need a sequel, considering it came out in 2004. But the success of Happy Gilmore 2 proves that a beloved Adam Sandler movie can still work decades later, which means a 50 First Dates 2 is definitely possible.
