Major Crunchyroll Dub Returns to Release Schedule Following Delay

Fans can now enjoy the English dubs of the most popular Spring 2026 anime on Crunchyroll as the release schedule is back to normal after a brief, unexpected pause. This season has been fantastic for new anime, especially for viewers who prefer English dubs. Crunchyroll is releasing dubs quickly after they air in Japan, but one show recently experienced some production difficulties.

I’m so excited that the English dub of Daemons of the Shadow Realm is back on track! It originally launched this Spring with the English and Japanese versions at the same time, which was awesome. We hit a little snag with some production issues that delayed Episode 5’s dub, but thankfully, it’s now streaming on Crunchyroll! Even better, the dub is going to be released weekly from now on, so we can keep up with everything as it comes out!

Daemons of the Shadow Realm English Dub Release Resumes With Crunchyroll

Fans noticed a delay with the English dub of Episode 5 of Daemons of the Shadow Realm shortly after it premiered in Japan. Crunchyroll explained that production issues caused the delay, and announced the episode would be available on May 16th, with weekly releases resuming afterward. Fortunately, the dub is now back on schedule and new episodes will continue to be released weekly throughout the spring.

The Japanese version of Daemons of the Shadow Realm is currently two episodes ahead of the English dub due to a change in the release schedule, but the difference isn’t significant. Some dubs often release much later, even months after the original air date, so this isn’t a major setback. Daemons of the Shadow Realm continues to receive high praise and is considered one of the best shows of Spring 2026, with each new episode being well-received.

What’s Going on With Daemons of the Shadow Realm?

I was really impressed by the start of Daemons of the Shadow Realm. Based on the manga by Hiromu Arakawa, the first episode was a standout this season. It cleverly subverted expectations set by the initial historical fantasy setting, and each episode since has slowly unveiled the larger story the show is building towards. It’s been a fascinating reveal so far.
