The new movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, takes place four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Everyone has forgotten Peter Parker (Tom Holland) exists, and he’s been operating as Spider-Man full-time, fighting crime alone in New York City. The film brings back Michael Mando as Scorpion and introduces Jon Bernthal as the Punisher to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Mark Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner, and Sadie Sink joins the cast, with some speculating she’ll be playing Jean Grey from the X-Men. The movie aims to be both a personal look at Peter Parker and a large-scale event connecting different parts of the MCU.
It’s become tricky to figure out Peter Parker’s age throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There was a four-year gap between No Way Home and Brand New Day, and before that, Thanos’ snap in Avengers: Infinity War stopped Peter from aging for five years. For viewers who’ve watched all seven films, keeping track of his age can be confusing. However, the movies do offer clues to pinpoint Peter’s age at different points in the story.
Spider-Man’s MCU Aging, Explained

Determining Peter Parker’s age in the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes down to two key pieces of information. First, his passport, seen in Spider-Man: Far From Home, shows his birthday as August 10, 2001. Second, Tony Stark mentions recruiting Peter when he was 14 years old in Spider-Man: Homecoming, specifically during the events of Civil War. By combining these details, we can establish a consistent timeline for his age throughout the movies.
The events of Captain America: Civil War take place in May and June 2016, according to the official Marvel Studios timeline. During the movie, Tony Stark visits Peter Parker’s home to ask him to join the fight, and because Peter’s birthday is August 10th, he was still 14 years old at that time. This means Peter is 14 throughout the airport battle in Leipzig. Spider-Man: Homecoming begins three months later, in September 2016, after Peter has already turned 15 over the summer. He even points this out to Tony Stark in the film when Tony mistakenly refers to him as 14. Now 15, Peter is a sophomore at Midtown School of Science and Technology, eager to prove to Stark that he’s ready to be a full-fledged Avenger while also taking down an arms dealing operation led by Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton).
Let’s talk about Peter Parker’s timeline in the MCU. By the time Avengers: Infinity War hit theaters in May 2018, he was a sweet 16. But that’s where things get…complicated. Thanos snaps him out of existence on Titan, and time essentially stops for him. Five years pass in the real world, but for Peter, it’s an instant. Then comes Avengers: Endgame in October 2023, and the reversal brings him back – and here’s the kicker – he’s still 16. He returns with Ned and the others who were blipped, looking and feeling exactly as they did the moment they disappeared. It’s a fascinating wrinkle in the narrative, and really highlights the strange effects of the Blip on these kids.
The film Spider-Man: Far From Home takes place about eight months after Endgame, in the summer of 2024, when Peter Parker is still 16 years old. Spider-Man: No Way Home immediately follows, set in late 2024, and Peter is now 17, having celebrated his birthday on August 10th. Brand New Day occurs four years later, around late 2028. Considering Peter Parker was born on August 10, 2001, he is 21 years old in the present timeline. However, if the Snap hadn’t happened, he would currently be 27.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens in theaters on July 31, 2026.
