LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight features a huge collection of Batsuits, inspired by Batman’s appearances in movies, comic books, TV shows, and throughout his history. While some suits are included in the Deluxe Edition and others can be earned by connecting your Warner Bros. or HBO Max accounts, you’ll primarily unlock new Batsuits by purchasing them with LEGO studs from the character Bat-mite.
In Legacy of the Dark Knight, characters can unlock new costumes. You can also use Red Bricks to change the color schemes of those costumes – like turning them green, pink, or orange. While new looks for characters like Gordon and Robin are fun, the coolest part is definitely unlocking all the different Batsuits.
10. Mask Of Tengu
If You Know, You Know
You might not expect it, but the ‘Mask of Tengu’ is a surprisingly fun piece of Batman’s history, going all the way back over 80 years. It’s a particularly unusual story, and exploring this side of Gotham is guaranteed to make you smile. It’s a great way to celebrate Batman’s past while also showcasing the more eccentric aspects of his world – especially in LEGO games.
9. Rainbow Batman
Add Splashes Of Color To Gotham City
Rainbow Batman is a fun, colorful skin that adds a bit of levity to the otherwise gritty and nighttime-focused game. It’s a playful nod to one of Batman’s more unusual costumes, though it’s definitely a bit goofy. My kids especially loved it in Legacy of the Dark Knight, finding it hilarious to see the serious Bruce Wayne wearing such bright colors.
8. Batman Beyond (1999)
Part Of The Deluxe Edition
Since it first aired in 1999, Batman Beyond has gained a dedicated following, particularly among those who discovered Batman through this series. A big part of its appeal is its unique visual style. The show features a particularly cool Batman suit and Batmobile, and both are available as downloadable content (DLC) if you purchase the Deluxe Edition of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
7. Batman (Bronze Age)
Hope You Like Blue
This Batman suit evokes a classic, old-school comic book feel. If you enjoy a slightly more colorful take on the Dark Knight – with extra blue – this suit brings a vibrant look to your Gotham City adventures. It also really shines when used with Red Bricks, letting you customize the colors and make Batman incredibly bright.
6. Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight
An Original Suit That Doesn’t Disappoint
This video game features a brand-new Batman suit designed specifically for it. Considering how impressive Legacy of the Dark Knight is, it’s fantastic to see such a detailed and striking suit in the game. The color scheme is appealing, and the glowing eyes and Bat symbol add a cool effect while you’re moving around Gotham City.
5. Gotham By Gaslight
Steampunk Meets 1800s Batman
Gotham By Gaslight reimagines Batman in 1800s London. The story is a compelling detective mystery, and its unique steampunk style has gained it a dedicated following over the years. If you prefer a more imposing and heavily armored Batsuit, this version is definitely worth checking out – it makes Bruce Wayne look even more intimidating.
4. The Dark Knight
The Best Batman Movie Has A Cool Suit Too
The Batman Begins suit is worth noting, but the design truly shines in The Dark Knight. It’s a suit you can imagine wearing while riding the Batpod, feeling the cape flow, and reliving the excitement of first seeing Christopher Nolan’s film in the cinema.
3. Batman (The Dark Knight Returns)
A Pre-Order Bonus For LEGO Batman
This Batsuit was a special bonus for pre-ordering the LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight video game, and it’s fantastic! It’s based on a classic four-issue comic book series from 1986, and as a big fan of that series myself, I think many other Batman fans will love it too. If you were able to get this bonus, you’re in for a treat – it’s one of the best Batsuits in the game.
2. Batman: The Animated Series
An Iconic Suit For A Generation
The Batsuit from Batman: The Animated Series is instantly recognizable and beloved by anyone who watched it growing up in the ’90s. Its classic design still looks fantastic in the Legacy of the Dark Knight game. Even though the show is over 30 years old, it’s still incredibly cool and brings back a lot of fond memories!
1. Batman ’89
Michael Keaton’s Batsuit Is Still The Best
Debates about the best Batman actor will always happen, but Michael Keaton’s Batsuit remains incredibly popular. It’s the version many fans picture when they think of Batman, and it’s even been featured in several LEGO games – including this one, where it’s known as the Batman Prime Batsuit. The striking yellow and black color scheme is a big part of its appeal. Once you unlock it in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, you’ll immediately want to explore Gotham City as this version of the Dark Knight – it’s simply the coolest suit in the game.
