Katie Bates, Travis Clark Moving to New Home After Affair Scandal

Katie Bates is embarking on a fresh start.

After her husband, Travis Clark, admitted to infidelity five months ago, Katie Bates Clark announced that she and Travis are now prepared to settle down in a new house.

Okay, so Katie’s been vlogging EVERYTHING about their big move – seriously, it’s amazing to see how she and Travis are getting ready! And honestly, it’s been so tough seeing them navigate things since Travis shared what he was going through. She’s finally opened up about those first few months, and it’s just… wow. Seeing how they rallied around Hailey, who’s three, and little Harvey, who’s nineteen months old, is just incredible. I’ve been following their journey so closely, and this peek behind the scenes is everything!

She shared in a post on May 17th that things have been challenging recently, but she’s optimistic about the future. She explained that the past few months have been unexpectedly difficult and transformative, involving tough talks, therapy, prayer, and a lot of thought about what’s best for her family going forward.

The 25-year-old explained that while she lives much of her life in the public eye, she’s been dealing with very personal challenges privately, and these have played a role in her and Travis’ choice to begin a new chapter.

Katie explained that while this decision might seem confusing to others, it wasn’t made lightly. She and her family spent a lot of time carefully considering it and praying about it. She emphasized that they weren’t trying to escape problems or find a quick fix, because life doesn’t work that way. Ultimately, they wanted to create a situation that would help their family heal, find peace, grow spiritually, and thrive in a healthy environment.

I was so touched by what Katie shared in the video! It showed her family getting ready to move, buying boxes and packing everything up, and she said she’s really looking forward to making new memories, starting fresh, and seeing what the future holds for them. It just felt so hopeful and genuine.

Katie and Travis, along with their children Hailey and Harvey, are currently based in Knoxville, Tennessee. They recently visited Florida, but Katie hasn’t revealed where they’ve moved to next.

She had previously said she hoped starting over could help her family get back on track.

Katie recently shared on Instagram that she’s been learning in therapy about the importance of new beginnings, even if she’s not sure what those will look like. She explained that she and her family are simply focusing on making the best decisions they can, one step at a time. Katie believes that difficult times can lead to personal growth, and she’s choosing to have faith that everything will work out as it should.

Following his admission of an affair – revealed on the same day Katie shared she had suffered a miscarriage – Travis had previously explained his dedication to saving his marriage.

Travis shared in a post on March 3rd that the past couple of months have been a learning experience. He’s been working hard on himself, including going to therapy and focusing on his faith. While he knows things aren’t guaranteed, he’s committed to doing everything he can for his wife and family, and he appreciates the prayers people have sent their way.

Follow Katie and Travis as their relationship unfolds, and learn more about Katie’s large family – the eighteen siblings featured on the TV show Bringing Up Bates.

William “Gil” Bates, a wrestling champion from South Carolina, met his future wife, Kelly Callaham, while both were students at Anderson University. Kelly was assigned to tutor Gil in Chemistry, and the two quickly connected. They got engaged in October 1987 while finishing their studies at Carson-Newman University in Tennessee, and married just two months later. Though they didn’t initially plan to have a large family, they chose not to use birth control, trusting that God would determine the size of their family. Gil later told Dateline in 2011 that they had expected to have only two or three children.

The couple’s first child, Zachary Bates, was born a year after their wedding, and their 19th child, Jeb Bates, arrived in 2012. When it comes to remembering all their children’s names, Kelly jokes that her husband, Gil, who owns Bates Tree Service, has a better memory than she does.

Zachary Duggar, born December 30, 1988, was homeschooled along with his siblings and studied with the Institute in Basic Life Principles. While his earlier courtship with Sarah Reith was featured on 19 Kids and Counting, he eventually married Whitney Perkins, whom he met while she worked as a carhop at Sonic. They began courting in 2013 and were married that December, with John-David Duggar as a groomsman. Together, they have five children: sons Bradley (born October 2014) and Jayden (born June 2021), and daughters Kaci (born June 2016), Khloé (born November 2019), and Lily Jo (born August 2023). They announced in September 2025 that they are expecting their sixth child in 2026.

Besides his work with the family history company, Zachary has also been a police officer, a county commissioner, and a real estate agent.

I’ve been following Michaela Bates Keilen for years, and it’s amazing how resourceful she was even as a kid! Born just 13 months after her brother in January 1990, she basically taught herself to sew and ended up making a lot of her family’s clothes and even managing their laundry. It was a sweet story with her and Brandon, too. They really wanted to get married, but Brandon needed to finish bible college first, so they enjoyed a two-year courtship before finally getting engaged in April 2015.

After getting married in Chicago that August, the couple faced difficulties trying to start a family. Michaela openly shared their challenges with fertility through her blog and YouTube channel. Following a miscarriage in 2021, they decided to become foster parents and welcomed two young boys into their home.

Erin Bates Pain, born May 2, 1991, shared with People magazine that she has only positive memories of her upbringing. Reflecting on her childhood, she said her parents raised her well and created a lot of happy moments.

Growing up without a television wasn’t a loss, she explained. Instead, her family spent that time playing with their dad, enjoying games together, and creating memories. She believes this actually made them more resourceful and intelligent.

After marrying Charles “Chad” Paine III in 2013, they quickly hoped to have a large family. Unfortunately, a blood clotting disorder caused several miscarriages before they welcomed their first child, Carson, in May 2015. They then happily welcomed Brooklyn in August 2016, Everly in May 2018, Holland in November 2019, and Finley in January 2022. Despite believing they couldn’t have any more children, their family continued to grow with William in October 2023 and Henry in August 2025. Following Henry’s birth, Chad shared on Instagram that Erin had experienced septic shock and asked for prayers for her recovery.

In October, she shared that she had started walking again, posting on Instagram about her progress: “Even though my steps are a little unsteady, I’m so grateful to be able to take them, as I wasn’t sure I ever would again.”

Lawson Bates, born on July 27, 1992, showed entrepreneurial spirit by starting his lawn care business, Lawson’s Lawncare, at just 13 years old. He gained some attention after interacting with Jana Duggar on Instagram, but later announced his engagement to Tiffany Espensen. He proposed to her during a trip to Italy in October 2021. Bates told People magazine that getting to know Espensen – her personality, interests, and goals – had been the best experience of his life, and they’d created many happy memories together over the past year.

I was so thrilled when they got married on a beautiful yacht off the San Diego coast back in May 2022. It was heartbreaking to hear about their miscarriage, but I was overjoyed when they welcomed little William in July 2024! And then, less than a year later, they announced they were expecting again! It was wonderful news, and I was so happy to hear about the arrival of their second son, Theodore, in December 2025. They’ve built such a lovely family.

Nathan Bates was born on August 29, 1993, and is part of a large family. He first became known to viewers through the show Bringing Up Bates when he courted Ashley Salyer. Later, in May 2021, he proposed to Esther Keyes. They married in October of the same year, following a family tradition of having their first kiss at the wedding ceremony. In 2022, they welcomed their daughter, Kenna, and in October 2024, their son Graham was born. Nathan has always felt called to ministry and has pursued that passion through mission trips and work as a first responder.

Alyssa Bates Webster, born on November 9, 1994, played a key role in her family, handling secretarial duties, shopping for clothes, and preparing meals. She met John Webster while working on the campaign for U.S. Representative Daniel Webster, his father. They became engaged in January 2014, celebrating at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Orlando, and married that May. The couple, who live in Florida, have five children: Alli (born April 2015), Lexi (born January 2017), Zoey (born March 2018), Maci (born February 2021), and Rhett (born March 2023).

Tori Bates Smith was born on December 20, 1995, a year after her older sister. She began dating Bobby Smith in 2016, and their relationship was featured on her family’s reality show. They married in December 2017, just months after getting engaged. Tori, who graduated from Crown College of the Bible with a degree in elementary education, and Bobby have five children: Robert IV (born November 2018), Kolter (born May 2020), Charlotte (born June 2021), Cambree (born August 2022), and Weston (born May 2024). They announced on Instagram in October 2025 that they are expecting their sixth child in March 2026.

Trace Bates, whose name means “harvester of the white fields,” was born on February 1, 1997. He met his future wife, Lydia Romeike, after being introduced by his sister, Josie Bates Balka, following a televised courtship with Chaney Kahle. The couple announced their engagement on YouTube in March 2022, with Trace sharing that Lydia was his best friend and the most positive influence in his life. They married in October 2022 with around 350 guests, including Jason Duggar as an usher. Their son, Ryker, was born in October 2023, and they welcomed their daughter, Kaia, in June 2025.

Carlin Bates Stewart was born on April 11, 1998, and graduated high school with her brother, Trace, after taking college courses while still in high school. She met her husband, Evan Stewart, through her sister Erin, and they got engaged in September 2018. They married in May 2019, with Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth as a bridesmaid. Their daughter, Layla, was born in January 2020 and featured on the show Bringing Up Bates. Their son, Zade, arrived in March 2022, and they welcomed their third child, daughter Navy Kate, in September 2025.

Oh my goodness, you won’t BELIEVE how incredible their family is! She was the tenth child, born on August 4th, 1999, and it was destiny when she met Kelton Balka at a piano recital in 2014 – they just clicked! It took a little while, but they finally started dating in 2017, and the proposal in June 2018 was SO sweet, it was all caught on camera! Of course, the wedding in October was filmed too – everything about them is just magical! Then came Willow in July 2019, followed by Hazel in June 2021, and Miles in February 2024! And get this – they announced another baby was on the way in April 2025! Little Brooks completed the crew in December of that year! Seriously, their family just keeps growing and it’s the most beautiful thing ever!

Katie Bates Clark was born on October 5, 2000, and her name means “pure grace.” She announced her relationship with Travis Clark on Facebook Live in 2019, and they got engaged by the ocean in April 2021. They married in December of that year and welcomed their daughter, Hailey, in February 2023, followed by their son, Harvey, in September 2024. Katie is a licensed cosmetologist, having graduated from The Crown College, and she works as a stylist for her sister Josie’s company, Effortless Beauty, as well as a model for Bates Sisters Boutique.

In January 2026, Travis admitted on Instagram that he had been unfaithful to his wife. He explained he had an affair and repeatedly betrayed her trust, taking full responsibility for his actions and stating there was no justification for what he had done.

Katie admitted a few days later that her trust had been damaged, but she still believed in God’s ability to heal things and hoped they could save their marriage.

Jackson Bates, along with Warden and Isaiah Bates (often referred to as the ‘three musketeers’), was born on February 17, 2002. He met his future wife, Emerson Wells, at a rodeo in Florida and they announced their engagement in March 2023. They married in October of that year, with Jason Duggar as a groomsman, and welcomed their son, David, in July 2025.

Born on May 19, 2003, Warden is known as “Tigger” because he’s full of energy and always bouncing around. He enjoys playing sports and singing, and he’s worked hard, helping out at both his dad’s excavating company and Paine Construction, where his brother-in-law, Chad, works.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe who joined the team on October 16th, 2004 – the third musketeer! He’s seriously amazing. And get this – he’s a family man, working with both his dad and his brother-in-law, Chad. He’s so dedicated to his faith too – he even completed his one-year Bible Certificate from Crown College back in 2023! But he’s not just about that spiritual life, he’s an entrepreneur! He started his own lawn care business in 2022, and it’s already taking off. I’m telling you, this guy is going places!

Oh my gosh, Addalee Bates is just incredible! She was born super early on February 17, 2006, and had a tough time in the NICU, struggling to breathe. She’s a fighter, though! And she wears hearing aids, but that doesn’t slow her down at all. Her parents are amazing – they even added extra letters to her name to remind her how special she is and what a miracle she is. It’s just so inspiring! And get this – she finished a whole one-year bible program in 2025! I’m seriously obsessed with her story.

Ellie Bates, whose name means “strong light,” became part of the team on April 28, 2007. She frequently models for photos used by Bates Sisters Boutique.

Callie-Anna Bates, the youngest daughter of Gil and Kelly, was born on August 2, 2009. Kelly described her as the most lively and outgoing of their children, saying people are naturally attracted to her personality.

Kelly wrote on Instagram in December 2020 that Jud Bates, who joined them on September 15, 2010, has quickly grown up. He’s faced a couple of injuries, breaking his right collarbone twice – once while playing football and again while riding his e-bike.

The Bates family grew with the arrival of Jeb Bates on February 1, 2012. He spent a short time in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Gil Bates told People magazine that even after having 19 children, he felt just as excited and anxious about Jeb’s birth as he did with their first child.
