EastEnders airs scandalous affair for fan-favourite in early BBC iPlayer release

Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) is clearly disturbed in EastEnders after realizing he’s starting to behave like his womanizing father, Max (Jake Wood).

The popular character, who quickly became a fan favorite last year, is facing a complicated situation. He’s currently dating Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness), but he’s also developed feelings for her twin brother, Josh Goodwin (Joshua Vaughan).

Jasmine and Oscar first connected without realizing it while Jasmine was in jail, facing charges for the murder of her father, Anthony Trueman. Oscar didn’t realize he’d made an error until he unexpectedly ran into Josh at The Queen Vic pub.

Okay, let’s talk about Oscar for a minute. Honestly, I felt for him in this scene. He was completely lost when it came to Jasmine, and genuinely worried she’d end up in prison for good. It wasn’t about excusing anything, but understanding his perspective – he didn’t know where their relationship stood, and the thought of her life being over was clearly weighing on him.

Following her release, he had an uncomfortable talk with Josh, and they agreed to remain just friends. However, it was obvious they both still had feelings for each other, and those feelings had been growing stronger recently.

Oscar has been steering clear of Josh, and his cousin Penny has noticed. Jasmine proposed a trip to the beach, but when Oscar couldn’t get a car, they all went to Walford Park – Josh included.

The twins started playing a game they used to enjoy as kids, but Jasmine became upset when she learned Josh had kept playing it with their adoptive mother after she’d left the family. She was hurt and immediately walked away.

That evening, Josh was at The Prince Albert, feeling down, when Oscar came over to cheer him up. They felt a connection, but they stopped themselves before kissing.

Despite their previous issues, the connection between them was undeniable in today’s episode. Josh was upset after Oscar didn’t reciprocate his feelings, and he attempted to fix things by suggesting they just be friends, hoping to protect Jasmine’s feelings in the process.

Penny saw the uncomfortable exchange and went over to her cousin, who confessed he believed he’d fallen in love with identical twins.

At The Albert, Josh confided in Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) that a past relationship had hurt him, and she encouraged him to start dating again and meet new people. Meanwhile, Oscar and Penny observed him as he struck up a conversation with someone else.

Oscar was heartbroken, but he impulsively hugged Josh anyway. He then led Josh towards the restroom, knowing it could jeopardize his relationship with Jasmine.
