Rosie O’Donnell Unveils Facelift Results in Before-and-After Photos

Rosie O’Donnell is giving an inside look at her facelift.

Earlier this year, Rosie explained she had a cosmetic procedure, and recently she shared a photo showing the slight changes to her appearance.

The 64-year-old posted a before-and-after photo on Instagram on May 27th, with the caption, “THE B4 & AFTER.”

In a May 25th post on her Substack, Rosie shared that her facelift was more expensive than any car she’s ever purchased, and it was a decision she didn’t take casually.

I used to have strong moral objections to facelifts. I considered myself a champion for women who would never get them. I felt like it was a letdown – to the feminist movement, to the natural process of getting older, and to women everywhere.

The former View panelist started to feel differently after losing fifty pounds, playfully commenting that her face seemed to be “melting with intention.”

Although she initially tried to feel okay with the idea, she quickly changed her mind. Her son, Clay, who was thirteen years old and shared with her late ex-wife Michelle Rounds, was surprised she’d even consider getting a facelift.

She described Clay’s reply as far from delicate. He’d simply said, ‘You earned your wrinkles’ – which she admitted was impolite, but also… true.

Rosie remembered Clay telling her, ‘Young women admire you.’ Then, he added with real impact, ‘I wouldn’t be able to respect you if you went through with it.’ She said that comment really hit home, especially coming from someone who still needed her help with simple things like opening jars.

The former talk show host, who shares four children – Parker, 31, Chelsea, 28, Blake, 26, and Vivienne, 23 – with her former wife, Kelli Carpenter, ultimately decided to get a facelift. She explained that if she’s teaching her son Clay anything, it’s that she, like everyone, has ownership of her own body, and that shouldn’t be dictated by any belief system, even a positive one like feminism.

“That’s still not true freedom,” Rosie explained. “It’s just swapping one set of rules for another, dictating what you can do with your own body.”

Even though she was nervous at first—and wanted to still recognize herself, just with a less tired appearance—she’s been surprised by how few people have noticed the difference, even Clay.

She wrote that she received support from absolutely no one – not friends, not strangers, and not even people who had previously praised her.

Regardless, Rosie wanted to make sure she was open about her facelift.

She spoke of her past self, her present strength, and welcomed others who shared her journey. Finishing her thoughts, she simply stated, ‘This is who I am,’ as they began the next chapter.
