The Pitt star confirms season 3 return – and shuts down “completely false” rumours of feud with Noah Wyle

Please be aware that the following information contains spoilers for Season 2, Episode 15 of The Pitt. This episode hasn’t yet aired in the UK.

The cast of “The Pitt” frequently changes, as seen with the exits of Tracy Ifeachor (Dr. Collins) after season one and Supriya Ganesh (Dr. Mohan) after season two.

Because of how the season finale ended, many viewers wondered if Sepideh Moafi’s character would be leaving the show.

I have to say, I was really intrigued by Moafi’s character, Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi. He came in as a temporary replacement for Dr. Robby back in season two, filling in while Dr. Robby was on sabbatical. It was a smart move by the show, bringing in someone new to shake things up!

Dr. Al-Hashimi shared with Dr. Robby that she has a seizure disorder caused by a childhood infection called viral meningitis. She believed it was managed, but it had recently started happening again.

Dr. Robby understood the doctor said she felt well enough to see patients, but he firmly requested she report her symptoms and take a break from practicing until she was completely cleared to return.

It initially seemed like Dr. Al-Hashimi might miss some episodes in season 3, but actress Moafi has confirmed she’ll be returning for the new season.

I recently spoke with the actress about her return, and honestly, she’s as much in the dark as we are! She confirmed she is coming back, which is great news, but she admitted she has no idea how big her role will be this season. She’s hopeful, of course, but right now, the showrunners haven’t shared any details about the story arc, or even how many episodes she’ll be in. It’s a bit frustrating for her – and for us fans, I imagine – but she’s excited to be involved, even if she doesn’t know the full picture yet.

Moafi also responded to online rumors claiming she had a disagreement with Noah Wyle, the star and executive producer of the show, and dismissed the idea that her character’s storyline was created as a result of any conflict between them.

She firmly denied having any special influence. She and Noah were simply good colleagues with a strong working relationship, which made it comfortable for them to tackle the more challenging scenes in episode 15. They were able to joke and relax between takes, creating a safe and comfortable environment.

Honestly, all this talk about a personal feud with the other person is just not true, as far as I know. I really don’t think there’s any bad blood between us – you could even ask Noah to confirm, but I’m pretty sure it’s all just rumors.

You can now stream the first season of The Pitt on HBO Max in the UK. New episodes of season 2 are released every Thursday. An HBO Max subscription starts at just £5.99 per month.
