‘That’s a Huge Bummer’: Street Fighter 6 World Tour Support Ends with Ingrid on PS5, PS4

Street Fighter 6 is primarily a game for competitive online play. However, the World Tour mode offers a surprisingly robust and enjoyable experience for players who prefer to play solo.

Capcom has expanded the game’s story and added new quests with each downloadable content release. These updates also let you learn techniques from new Masters and unlock their second outfit.

With Ingrid joining the team today, the publisher seems to have decided this will be the final update for the single-player experience.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), a spokesperson announced that Ingrid will be the last character to get extra story content as part of the World Tour update. However, all previously released World Tour content will still be available to play.

This doesn’t completely eliminate the possibility of future World Tour quests, but it suggests that the characters from Season 4 won’t be included in that mode. It’s disappointing, because I always liked completing those quests with each new expansion.

And I’m not the only one disappointed.

It’s really disappointing to hear the World Tour is being cut, especially since I was one of the people enjoying it. If they’re using the resources saved from that to develop the game further, they absolutely need to add more characters each season.

I think Capcom really outdid themselves with World Tour, so I don’t want to be too critical of them moving on to new things. However, I do hope they offer something similar in the next season to replace it.

I’ll wait for the publisher to officially announce their plans – which I anticipate happening next week, likely during State of Play or at Summer Game Fest – before voicing any concerns.
