Kelly Clarkson Tears Up Discussing End of Her Daytime Talk Show

Kelly Clarkson fans love seeing a moment like this.

Kelly Clarkson was visibly moved during her interview with Rita Wilson when Wilson expressed sadness about the upcoming end of The Kelly Clarkson Show, which will finish airing later this year.

Before we finish, I just wanted to express my gratitude for all the years you’ve hosted your show,” Wilson said on the May 27th episode. “You really revolutionized daytime television.”

Ever since she first appeared on daytime television in 2019, the original winner of American Idol has become famous for her “Kellyoke” covers – performances that one loyal viewer, Wilson, especially enjoys.

Tom Hanks’ wife, who’s been making her own music since 2012, continued, praising his love of music and how he’s brought so much of it to daytime radio, as well as sharing his own voice, talents, and those of other artists with his amazing band.

The 69-year-old ended her heartfelt compliments by telling Clarkson that his show had profoundly impacted her life. The kind words moved Clarkson so much that his eyes began to tear up.

Visibly emotional, Clarkson joked to the audience, “I’m not crying,” then added with genuine sincerity, “That’s so nice.”

Despite recent concerns, Kelly Clarkson has assured her fans she’ll still be active in the public eye, and she’s excited to be returning as a coach on The Voice for its upcoming 30th season.

People seem to think I’ve given up, but that’s not true. I’m just really busy with other work and commitments. I have too much going on right now, so I decided it was time to take a step back and focus on other things.

They embraced, with Clarkson telling Wilson, “I love you,” and Wilson replying, “That’s really how I feel, too.”

Even though the singer, known for “Miss Independent,” is understandably upset about leaving her talk show after seven seasons, she feels good about her decision. This comes after the sudden loss of her ex-husband and the father of her children, Brandon Blackstock.

Kelly, who shares 11-year-old River and 9-year-old Remington with her ex, Brandon, explained in a February 20th interview on Today that their family dynamic has shifted recently. She said it’s made her realize how valuable life is.

Despite recent concerns, Kelly Clarkson has assured fans she’ll still be on television, as she’s confirmed to return as a coach for season 30 of The Voice.

People seem to think I’ve given up, but that’s not true. I’m just really busy with other work and commitments. I have a lot going on, so I decided it was time to take a step back and focus on what I can realistically handle.
