Many people remember Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging as the most popular movie of 2008.
This film launched the careers of actors like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Eleanor Tomlinson, and Georgia Henshaw, and it’s another success for director Gurinder Chadha, known for Bend It Like Beckham. It’s sure to bring back fond memories for anyone who grew up in the millennial generation.
While discussing her new show, ‘The Fortune,’ with TopMob, Tomlinson shared that she fondly remembers playing Jas in the movie.
She reminisced about the experience with great fondness. Just last week, she unexpectedly ran into Georgia Henshaw, who played Rosie, after not seeing her for 18 years. They met up, and it felt like no time had passed – it was truly amazing.

She continued, explaining that when you’re young and working, you don’t realize everything happening behind the scenes – like the support from parents or chaperones, or the need for tutoring. It’s different from meeting people as an adult because you’re always surrounded by your family, and don’t get the chance to build relationships independently.
Tomlinson described the movie as truly special and expressed how much he enjoyed being involved. He jokingly suggested he’d love to appear in a sequel, even if it meant seeing the cast as older, more worn-down versions of themselves – he thought that would be fantastic.
Many fans would love to see a sequel that reunited the original cast after over seventeen years, but for now, it’s up to the decision-makers whether that will happen.
I remember Aaron Taylor-Johnson being fantastic as Robbie in that movie! It’s amazing to see how much he’s done since then – he’s now starring in big films like Nosferatu, 28 Years Later, and Kraven the Hunter. He’s really become a major star.
When asked if she still communicates with Johnson, Tomlinson told TopMob she doesn’t. She explained that she and Aaron first worked together on The Illusionist and have known each other for a long time. She jokingly revealed he was her first kiss – though it was for a scene in the movie – and remembers being very nervous about it.
He’s become a huge star, which is fantastic. I’m confident we’d be perfectly friendly if we ran into each other, but we simply haven’t had the chance to reconnect. Still, you never know what the future holds.
