In June 2026, StudioCanal will launch a special collection exclusively on its streaming service. The lineup includes a celebration of British icons, a stunning Shakespeare adaptation, a tribute to a remarkable British innovator, a birthday showcase for Natalie Portman featuring one of her most popular films, a delightfully quirky musical, and milestone birthdays for legendary filmmakers Ken Loach (turning 90) and Mel Brooks (turning 100).
StudioCanal presents – June 2026
Today’s a special day – it’s Natalie Portman’s 45th birthday! It makes me want to revisit where it all began for her: her very first movie, Léon: The Professional, from 1994. It’s amazing to think she delivered such an incredible performance before she’d even hit her teens! You can stream it now on STUDIOCANAL Presents, and I highly recommend it.
We chat with Leon director Luc Besson about a sequel….
Today, June 10th, we celebrate the remarkable career of Lionel Jeffries, a talented actor, writer, and director who left a lasting impact on British cinema. Having appeared in over 100 films, including many classic comedies available through STUDIOCANAL Presents, his work deserves recognition. Don’t miss a chance to revisit one of his most cherished films, The Railway Children (1970), and enjoy a trip down memory lane.
Today, June 13th, London is celebrating the King’s official birthday with a traditional gun salute and a flyover by the Royal Air Force. To mark the occasion, why not ask your audience which fictional king they think is the most iconic? We think Lawrence Olivier’s portrayal of the ruthless and ambitious Richard III in the 1955 film deserves the crown.
Okay, so I recently revisited Yield to the Night from 1956, and wow! It was released 70 years ago today, and it really showcases Diana Dors – often called Britain’s Marilyn Monroe – as a seriously talented actress, not just a blonde beauty. She delivers a powerful, chilling performance as a woman behind bars, and honestly, it’s a gritty, fantastic film. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend checking it out – it’s a real gem!
Join us on June 17th to celebrate the 90th birthday of Ken Loach, one of the UK’s most celebrated film directors. We’ll be revisiting his groundbreaking 1967 film, Poor Cow, the movie that launched his incredible career.

On June 20th, you can stream the Village People’s fun and quirky movie, Can’t Stop The Music (1980), on STUDIOCANAL Presents! This cult classic is famous (or infamous!) for being the very first film to receive a Razzie Award. It’s lighthearted entertainment and a great choice for a cozy night in.
Following the recent celebration of David Attenborough, let’s also recognize the incredible Mel Brooks as he turns 100! Don’t miss the chance to share his genius with your audience – we highly recommend his classic film, The Producers (1967), which is currently streaming on STUDIOCANAL Presents.
What does Mel Brooks have in common with Stanley Kubrick…….?
