Legendary Voice Actor Shocked by Cartoon Network Cancellation

Cartoon Network has seen a lot of success lately by revisiting its popular older shows with continuations, sequels, and spin-offs. Series like Regular Show, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and The Powerpuff Girls have all returned in some way after originally ending, giving fans a chance to enjoy them again. Recently, a well-known voice actor who’s been a key part of many of these shows shared her feelings about one project in particular. Tara Strong still regrets how one series ended, even years later.

For decades, Tara Strong has been the voice behind many beloved animated characters, including those in shows like Teen Titans, The Powerpuff Girls, The Fairly OddParents, Ben 10, and Rugrats – and that’s just a small sample of her work! In 2010, she joined the cast of Sym-Bionic Titan, a mech series created by Genndy Tartakovsky that gained a dedicated following despite being canceled. In a recent interview on “The Joe Vulpis Podcast,” Strong shared that she was surprised when the show didn’t get renewed. She described it as a fantastic series with a similar charm to Ben 10. Tartakovsky’s Thoughts on The Titan’s Return

In 2023, Genndy Tartakovsky, the creator of Sym-Bionic Titan, spoke with us at egmr.ru about the possibility of the series returning. He explained that while more of the story is already written and planned, its revival depends on finding someone willing to fund it. He clarified that he doesn’t have the power to greenlight the project himself, and a studio needs to believe there’s an audience for it. While he’s also planning more of Primal and has plenty of new ideas, Sym-Bionic Titan is the one past project he’d be most interested in revisiting, if the opportunity arose.

Genndy Tartakovsky recently concluded the third season of his acclaimed Adult Swim series, Primal, wrapping up the story of Spear and Fang in an unexpected fashion. While a revival of Sym-Bionic Titan hasn’t been officially announced, Tartakovsky is already busy with new projects. He’s currently developing Motel Transylvania, a TV show based in the world of Hotel Transylvania, a franchise he helped create. He’s also working on an original animated film called The Black Knight, set to be released by Sony Pictures Animation. So, even if Titan doesn’t return, Tartakovsky remains actively involved in animation.
