If you’re disappointed that there won’t be any new episodes of Solo Leveling this year, a new summer anime might be just what you’re looking for. Solo Leveling was incredibly popular with its first two seasons, but it ended without any news about a possible third season. While we might hear updates about its future soon, another anime is emerging that fans should definitely watch out for.
Based on a popular Korean webcomic, the new anime series Tomb Raider King is expected to appeal to fans who enjoyed Solo Leveling. The story follows a treasure hunter on a quest for revenge. A new teaser trailer has been released, and the series is scheduled to premiere on July 8th.
Tomb Raider King Confirms July 2026 Release Date
The anime series Tomb Raider King will premiere in Japan on July 8th as part of the Summer 2026 season. Plans for releasing the show in other countries haven’t been revealed yet. Seung Wook Woo is directing and writing the series for STUDIO EEK, a Korean animation studio. Hyun-Jung Lee is the chief animation director and character designer, with Hyung Jun Heo also serving as a chief animation director. Ju Young Kim is composing the music, and Kadokawa is handling the Japanese dub.
Yoshimasa Hosoya will lead the Japanese voice cast for the anime Tomb Raider King, playing the character Ryoga Goriki. The cast also features Saori Hayami as Irene Holton (featured in the teaser), Junichi Suwabe as Taisei Ogawara, Miyu Irino as Kotaro Yanagi, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Noboru Kureha. The opening theme song, “Showdown,” is performed by QWER, marking their first time providing music for an anime series. With Kadokawa involved, fans are eager to see if the anime will be released internationally.
Why Tomb Raider King is Like Solo Leveling

The webtoon Tomb Raider King has a similar look and feel to Solo Leveling, especially with the character designs and the shared setting of mysterious tombs appearing worldwide, which hunters must investigate. Originally launched in 2016 by SANG on Kakao’s platforms, the story follows Ryoga, who is different from Sung Jinwoo because he’s focused on gaining power to avenge those who have harmed him.
I’m completely hooked on what’s happening with Ryoga! He’s been sent back in time with all this knowledge of ancient tombs, and he’s racing to uncover as many as possible and collect those amazing relics. Everyone’s buzzing about what’s next for Solo Leveling, but honestly, it looks like we’re going to be waiting a good while to see what the creators have planned. It’s a bit of a wait, but knowing the series, it’ll be worth it!
