5 DC Comics You Don’t Want to Miss This Month (June 2026)

Summer is here, and DC Comics has a lot more exciting things planned for fans in 2026! This year has already been great, with the ‘Next Level’ initiative giving well-deserved attention to characters like Lobo, Batwoman, and Zatanna. Plus, the ‘Absolute’ line has released some fantastic comics recently. Now, a new month is starting, which means a fresh wave of comics is coming out in June. There’s something for every reader, including new limited series, ongoing titles, and even a small event.

With the Supergirl movie coming soon, there’s a lot happening with the character, including a special, an alternate-universe story, and even an appearance in this month’s Lobo comic. If you’re looking for something a bit different, Deadman is headlining a new series for the first time in years. Plus, DC is celebrating Pride with Dream Girls, featuring Dreamer and Galaxy. There are plenty of exciting comics coming from DC in June, so here are 5 you won’t want to miss!

5. Supergirl: Survive #1

Everyone loves a fun, alternate-universe story, and this summer’s focus is Supergirl! So it’s perfect that she’s taking center stage in a brand new, standalone adventure. Supergirl: Survive #1, by Ethan Parker, Griffin Sheridan, and Rod Reis, offers a fresh take on the Superman story. Instead of being sent to Earth alone, Kara stays on Krypton to protect her infant cousin. It’s surprising this idea – Supergirl protecting baby Superman – hasn’t been done before, and I’m really looking forward to seeing where this series goes with it!

4. The Deadman #1

I’m a big fan of the creative team of W. Maxwell Prince and Martín Morazzo – I’ve enjoyed their work on titles like Ice Cream Man and Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum, so I’ll definitely check out their new series. This one brings back the character Deadman, now tasked with overseeing all souls after the events of DC K.O. Deadman doesn’t often get to be the main character, and I’m excited to see this talented team put their spin on DC’s ghostly hero.

3. Justice League: Dream Girls – A DC Pride Event #1

Usually, DC Comics releases a special anthology for Pride Month in June, but this year they’re doing something bigger: a new weekly miniseries throughout the entire month. Justice League: Dream Girls – A DC Pride Event brings together many talented and diverse creators, led by Nicole Maines and Jadzia Axelrod. The story follows Galaxy and Dreamer as they face a series of dangerous and unpredictable events. It’s great to see DC giving these characters a chance to shine in a large-scale, thrilling story.

2. Absolute Catwoman #1

Following the recent expansion of the Absolute line with Absolute Green Arrow, DC Comics is adding another title. This time, Scott Snyder, Che Grayson, and Bengal are teaming up for an Absolute Batman spin-off focused on Catwoman, Bruce Wayne’s longtime love interest. The series will take Selina Kyle on a globe-trotting mystery, moving the action outside of Gotham City. Considering the success of the Absolute Universe so far, I’m really looking forward to seeing what the creative team does with Selina in Absolute Catwoman #1.

1. Summer of Supergirl Special/Lobo #4

I know Supergirl already has her own comic series, but I’m really excited about what DC is doing with this new special! They’re releasing Summer of Supergirl Special #1 with a fantastic creative team – Sophie Campbell, Mark Waid, Gail Simone, and others – and it’s going to pit Supergirl against Lobo. That sounds like a fun battle on its own, but here’s the really clever part: Skottie Young and Jorge Corona are releasing Lobo #4 at the same time, telling the same story from Lobo’s point of view! It’s a bit of a gimmick, I admit, but honestly, I think it’s a brilliant and really cool idea.
