As a big fan of IO Interactive and their Hitman games, I’m really excited about their new 007 game, ‘First Light’! I’m starting to wonder though, what are their plans for downloadable content and future updates? I’m eager to see what extras they have in store for us!
While First Light emphasizes narrative more than the open-ended, action-packed gameplay of Hitman, IO Interactive suggests there’s still more content on the way.
So, for everything we know so far about the 007 First Light DLC roadmap, read on!
007 First Light roadmap: Will there be DLC?
The 007 First Light game will receive content updates after it launches, but it’s currently unknown if these will be major downloadable content packs or smaller, standard updates.
So, IOI’s planning a ton of stuff after First Light launches, just like they did with Hitman. Apparently, they’ve already got a whole roadmap of content lined up, and they’re really confident it’ll be just as successful. As a player, that’s awesome to hear – more stuff to do!

We view the game’s launch as just the first step. It’s really important to us to hear what players think and use that feedback to improve and make the game even better.
We’re always asking ourselves what’s working and what isn’t. We’ve been doing this with the Hitman series, particularly with World of Assassination, for over ten years, and we plan to keep adding more content.
It doesn’t look like we’ll be getting traditional story-based downloadable content (DLC). While the developer has mentioned future content, it probably won’t be in the form of new story missions.
She’s actually talking about Tactical Simulations, or TacSims, and there are already plans for several of these to happen after the game is released.
While we don’t have confirmation either way, it seems more likely that any future story content will be part of a new game, rather than downloadable content.
