After Steve Carell’s character, Nick, passed away in the first season of The Four Seasons, the friends’ regular seasonal trips change in the show’s second season.
Tracey Wigfield, a co-creator of the show, explained to The Hollywood Reporter that the actor’s departure left a significant gap. This change will lead to new interactions between characters and make viewers wonder how Ginny will adjust within the group.
Lang Fisher, one of the creators of the show along with Wigfield and Tina Fey (who also plays Kate), described Nick as the person who brought everyone together.
Fisher described him as a natural leader who motivates others and often takes charge, especially on trips. However, Fisher questioned whether the group could function as well without his influence.
Yes, they do, but things aren’t simple. They’re still working through their grief and facing individual problems, all while delivering another captivating season of the show.
But are there more episodes on the cards?

Has The Four Seasons been renewed for season 3?

When could The Four Seasons season 3 be released?
The first two seasons launched in May 2025 and 2026, so we’re hoping season 3 will be released around May 2027.
Watch this space for updates.
Which cast could return for The Four Seasons season 3?

If given the greenlight, we’d expect the following faces to all return:
- Tina Fey as Kate
- Will Forte as Jack
- Colman Domingo as Danny
- Marco Calvani as Claude
- Kerri Kenney-Silver as Anne
- Erika Henningsen as Ginny
Julia Lester plays Lila, the daughter of Anne and Nick, while Ashlyn Maddox plays Beth, the daughter of Kate and Will.
David Tennant made a brief appearance as Gianpiero, a possible love interest for Anne, and fans are hoping he’ll be back in future episodes.
Steve Carell’s character, Nick, showed up in a flashback during the second season. It’s currently unknown if he’ll be in a potential third season.
And there’s plenty of room for some new faces, too.
What could happen in The Four Seasons season 3?
Honestly, I’m really hoping Anne and Gianpiero work things out. It would be such a disappointment if we didn’t get to see how their story continues – I’m really invested in them!
Danny and Claude chose not to have children, which seems like a good decision now that they’re both caring for Danny’s mother after her fall. However, as their history shows, they’ll always have something to playfully debate and work through together, as strong couples do.
Kate and Jack had a tough time in Season 2, as their different ways of communicating caused some conflict. Despite this, they’re still dedicated to each other and their relationship, and we hope to see them happier in the future, even if they still have occasional disagreements.
Ginny is now a solid part of the group, especially after becoming close to Anne when her son was born. Raising baby Gino will keep her very busy.
