‘We’re Continuing Our Journey on Xbox, Switch, and Steam’: Sony Wages War on 1,000+ Crappy PS5 Games

Sony is actively removing poorly made, low-quality games – often called ‘shovelware’ – from the PlayStation Store, and has already taken down thousands of titles.

Now, it seems potentially thousands more will be removed very soon.

Webnetic, a game publisher, has announced that its games will be removed from PlayStation platforms soon, but will still be available on other online stores.

You might not recognize the name Webnetic, but you’ve likely seen their games on the PlayStation Store. Titles like The Giraffe G, The Sheep Quiz, and Tile Jong are just a few examples – they’re generally considered low-quality, quickly-made games.

It looks like Sony is completely removing Webnetic from its platforms, which should improve the experience of browsing the digital store on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

From what I’ve seen, this publisher has a huge collection of games on the PlayStation Store – it looks like they offer around 1,200 titles.

We don’t know the exact date these games will be removed from the PlayStation Store – they’re currently still available – but according to recent information, it will likely happen within a few days.

While the store will likely still have a lot of low-quality games, Sony seems determined to address the very worst offenders.
