Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration: Release date, card list and what to expect

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Pokémon, and to celebrate, we’re launching the Pokémon Trading Card Game 30th Celebration!

The Pokémon Trading Card Game has been a huge part of the Pokémon phenomenon from the very start, and it remains incredibly popular today.

Okay, so you’re as hyped as I am for the 30th Anniversary TCG expansion, right? Well, here’s the lowdown on when it’s coming out and what kind of cards we can expect!

When is the Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration release date?

Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration is currently scheduled to release on 16 September 2026.

This is a significant change because, for the first time, a trading card game expansion will be released everywhere at the same time, rather than launching in Japan months before other regions.

This will be followed by more releases throughout the rest of the year.

Is there a Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration pre-order yet?

At the time of writing, pre-orders for the 30th Celebration expansion have not gone live yet.

Once that’s finished, you can collect them from the usual places: the Pokémon Center and Magic Madhouse.

We’ll update this page as and when pre-orders go live, so be sure to check back!

What to expect from Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration

The Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration will include 150 total cards, including secret rares.

Similar to the 2021 Celebrations set, this will also feature 30 beloved cards from throughout the trading card game’s history.

These unique Pikachu cards will have a special ’30’ stamp and a shiny foil design, but they can’t be used in official tournaments.

Each booster pack contains six shiny cards – five regular shiny cards and one shiny Basic Energy card – plus a code for the Pokémon TCG Live online game, and a random collectible Pikachu illustration card from a set of 30.

Every Pikachu card will feature unique artwork from a different artist. They’ll also have a number indicating its place in the series, and be available in both standard and shiny foil versions.

The update will introduce a new type of card called “Futuristic rare,” featuring art by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN. These cards will showcase Pokémon with artwork designed to feel hopeful and forward-looking.

But enough about all that – you’re here for the card list, right?
