Storm Reid Trolls Euphoria Season 3 Finale Absence

Euphoria may be over, but Storm Reid is still feeling euphoric.

The actress jokingly addressed why she wasn’t back for the third season of the HBO show, where she played the younger sister of Zendaya’s character, Rue Bennett, during an appearance on the May 31st episode.

Just before the finale of the show aired, actress Storm Reid, who played Gia Bennett, shared a playful TikTok video of herself at a recording studio with the caption, “Sorry Rue, I’m busy recording!”

After a fan joked that they forgave the character Storm for not being in the final seven minutes of the episode—the minutes where Rue tragically died from a fentanyl-laced overdose—Storm responded with a simple, questioning, “were you ?”

Storm didn’t appear much in the final episode of Euphoria. However, a short clip of her from the first season was included when Rue was hallucinating, seeing visions of her friends and family.

Despite everything, the 22-year-old actress is thankful for her time on the first two seasons of Euphoria. In a 2024 interview with Rotten Tomatoes, she said she’s incredibly grateful to the show’s cast and crew.

 

“Euphoria was a truly special experience,” she said. “I’m so happy it’s something I’ll be remembered for, and that I got to be a part of something that really impacted culture. I’ll always be thankful for it.”

It’s a sentiment also shared by Zendaya.

In behind-the-scenes footage shown after the final episode, the 29-year-old actress expressed her gratitude to the entire crew. She said, ‘Thank you so much – I’m incredibly grateful to all of you.’ She added that many crew members had been with her since the start and had seen her grow, calling it a real pleasure and honor to work with them.

According to Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, the show wouldn’t have been as successful without Zendaya, who received two Emmy Awards for her performance as Rue.

Oh my gosh, Zendaya is just… incredible. Seriously, watching her over these seasons has been amazing. I totally fell for Rue, you know? She’s so real – messy, makes terrible choices sometimes, but deep down, she’s got a good heart and you just want her to get it together, even if she doesn’t always succeed. It’s just… everything!
