Holt McCallany, known for his role in Mindhunter, and Nathalie Emmanuel, famous from Game of Thrones, are starring in a new serial killer thriller that recently started filming in Bucharest.
Hyde is a new psychological thriller with a dark, noir style. It’s written and directed by brothers Graham and Parker Phillips, who are also known for their films The Bygone and Rumble Through the Dark.
Actor Scott McCallany will play Detective Grimes, a troubled investigator searching for a vicious serial killer in a decaying city. The story follows his descent into the city’s dark and dangerous side.
Emmanuel will star as Detective Doran, tasked with following Grimes. Bruce Greenwood, known for his role in ‘Fall of the House of Usher,’ and David Harewood, from ‘Homeland,’ are also part of the cast.
Eliot Greenwood plays Henry Monroe, the therapist assigned to Detective Grimes, and their sessions slowly uncover Grimes’s difficult history. Meanwhile, Gary Harewood portrays Robert Malloy, a Lieutenant struggling to manage a cash-strapped police department and desperately trying to help Grimes before it’s too late.
The Phillips brothers expressed their excitement about the project, saying they were impressed by the talent and teamwork of the actors they’re working with.
The team came together with inventive concepts, sharp intuition, and a genuine desire to experiment and push boundaries, all while inspired by the unique and atmospheric setting of Bucharest, which perfectly suited the dark and unusual story they were crafting.
McCallany is well-known for playing characters who investigate serial killers, especially after his popular role as Bill Tench in the Netflix series Mindhunter. This new film will likely please fans who were disappointed when Mindhunter wasn’t renewed for another season.
