Mattel just revealed a new Masters of the Universe game with a surprising twist – Skeletor is the hero! With Travis Knight’s Masters of the Universe movie on the horizon, Mattel is hoping to bring this classic franchise back into the spotlight. Beyond the movie, fans can also enjoy comics, novels, and now, a co-op video game based on the series.
Mattel has released its first mobile game, Skeletor: Until Next Time, available now on iOS and Android. Created with Amber, this fast-paced endless runner lets you play as Skeletor, racing through Snake Mountain and across Eternia. As you run, the challenges get harder, so you’ll need quick reflexes to dodge obstacles and survive the chaotic world. The game is launching just before the new movie comes out on June 5th.

We got a sneak peek at the game, and it’s fantastic! Skeletor has always been a bit over-the-top, but this game really highlights his witty and sarcastic side – each playthrough starts with a funny one-liner. The game’s look is classic, but still fresh and interesting, with obstacles that get more difficult as you play. Things get even tougher with “Hero Runs,” which are like boss levels where characters like Teela and Man-At-Arms add extra challenges. You can definitely enjoy Skeletor: Until Next Time without spending any money; the things you can unlock don’t really change how the game plays.
