Swapped has emerged as a major contender, achieving the highest single-week viewership for a Sony Pictures Animation film. Last month, Swapped reached 38.7 million views in just one week, surpassing the previous record held by KPop Demon Hunters. Although the animated film, featuring Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple, may not ultimately exceed Huntrix’s overall numbers, it’s rapidly gaining popularity.
Following the success of KPop Demon Hunters, director Maggie Kang has shared some insights into the upcoming sequel. She emphasized the team’s desire to maintain high quality and originality, knowing that K-pop fans have high expectations and will quickly notice any shortcomings. While the plot details are still under wraps, producers have suggested that the sequel will delve deeper into the stories of supporting characters like Zoey, Mira, and Derpy, who played significant roles in the first film but received less focus than the main character, Rumi.
