The Marlow Murder Club starring James Bond icon finally gets an update about its future

Okay, so I’m really excited to hear that The Marlow Murder Club is coming back for another season! It’s that cozy murder mystery show on U&Drama, and honestly, I’ve been hooked. The creator, Robert Thorogood, also did Death in Paradise, which should tell you it’s in good hands. They’ve ordered six more episodes, so get ready for more puzzling cases and charming characters!

Samantha Bond, known for her role in the James Bond films, will return as Judith Potts in the new season. She’ll be joined by Cara Horgan from Peep Show, playing Becks Starling, Jo Martin of Doctor Who as Suzie Harris, and Natalie Dew from The Capture as DI Tanika Malik.

I was so excited to see photos of the cast with the writer, Thorogood! It looks like the new season will follow the same format as before – three separate mysteries, each unfolding over a two-part episode. Can’t wait!

Similar to previous seasons, the new series will begin with an adaptation of a Thorogood novel, “Murder on the Marlow Belle.” The remaining two stories will be completely original mysteries. Thorogood will write the first two episodes, Amy Reith will write episodes three and four, and Thorogood and Reith will collaborate on the final two episodes.

Season 4, coming in 2027, starts with a body found in the river. The investigation quickly connects to a local drama group and a famous actor who got their start in the town.

The team also investigates a suspicious death – a man who collapsed at his own mother’s wake. While it looks like an allergic reaction, they suspect foul play and work to uncover what really happened.

When the vineyard’s co-owner is found drowned in wine, the women of the estate band together to uncover the truth behind this baffling murder.

Will these amateur detectives be able to solve the murders in their town by uncovering family secrets and personal betrayals?

I’m excited to report that Holli Dempsey, Phill Langhorne, and Tijan Sarr are all coming back for season four! Production is kicking off soon, and they’ll be filming on location in and around Marlow. It’s great to see some familiar faces joining the core cast again – definitely a promising sign for what’s to come.

The new drama series is a collaboration between Masterpiece, a US broadcaster, and Monumental Television, with support from ITV Studios and initial funding from UKTV.

Alison Owen and Debra Hayward, the executive producers, shared that they’re excited to film three brand new murder mysteries in such a beautiful location – and honestly, who wouldn’t be? The setting is practically a character in itself, and I can’t wait to see how it plays into these new stories.

Robert and Amy have created another exciting and complex mystery for viewers to unravel. Full of suspense, clever dialogue, and genuine emotion, we’re thrilled to share these new stories on screen.
