Jasmine Roth is on the other side of a horrible day.
Genevieve Gorder, the host of HGTV’s Hidden Potential, recently shared that her and husband Brett Roth’s 21-month-old daughter, Darla, had to be taken to the emergency room after a fall.
Jasmine shared on Instagram on June 1st that it was a difficult day. Her daughter, Darla, needed to be taken to the emergency room for the first time since Jasmine and her husband, Brett, became parents. Jasmine is currently pregnant with their third child and is also mom to 6-year-old Hazel.
Jasmine, 41, said her daughter, Darla, fell off the couch and hit her head on the coffee table, resulting in a half-inch cut near her eyebrow.
Jasmine said she was home with her two daughters when she had to rush one of them to the hospital. Brett met them there. Thankfully, Darla is doing okay, though she needed seven stitches to repair a cut on her back. Jasmine described her daughter as being very brave and said she plans to put their coffee table away until the kids are grown.
Jasmine showed a picture of Darla’s injury, which hadn’t been treated, and said she’d never witnessed something so severe.
“I was so scared for her,” Jasmine continued. “Poor baby cried but she was so brave.”
Later, the reality star used the opportunity to remind her followers of a parenting PSA.
Jasmine shared on Instagram that parenting isn’t about striving for perfection. It’s simply about keeping your kids safe and being there to support them through challenges.

The next day, Jasmine posted a cheerful update: a video of the toddler excitedly throwing a piece of popcorn up in the air.
Jasmine shared an update about Darla on June 2nd, thanking everyone for their kind wishes. She mentioned Darla had some swelling but was generally doing well. Darla’s stitches will dissolve on their own in about 10 days, and they’re hoping the scar won’t be too noticeable.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her acting.
She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.
She explained that growing up, many girls are told that periods are supposed to be painful, and that pain is just something women have to deal with. This often leaves people feeling like they’re suffering in silence with something incredibly common.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she’d been hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she’d been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap to form in her abdominal muscles.
Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) asking why she hadn’t tweeted recently. Suki replied, jokingly suggesting the reason was a hernia she got six months ago from wearing overly tight pants, and that she’d been afraid to mention it.

He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

During a soccer game against Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle, a midfielder from Racing Louisville collapsed after only a few minutes of play.
I was watching the game and it was really scary. One of the USWNT players just started slowly lowering herself to the field, and a teammate was right there with her. The ref immediately called for medical staff, and then she actually collapsed – it happened so fast! It was a really frightening moment.
Savannah received immediate medical attention on the field and was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests, according to a statement from the National Women’s Soccer League. They reported that she is currently in stable condition and is alert.

Adam Devine revealed that injuries from being hit by a cement truck at age 11 still cause him problems now.
“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I experience spasms throughout my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—within the last year, actually.”
He explained that his pain is intermittent, and described having some physical imperfections, saying, “My body just has a few things that aren’t quite right.”

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He said he was in so much pain he had to crawl on his hands and knees, and the pain got worse during a road trip with a friend.
He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes during a March 2025 episode of his podcast, Trading Secrets. He explained that just a few weeks prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a single squat or stand on one leg without falling. He compared the feeling to having had a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday celebration for her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.
In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a gun unsafely. Thankfully, @thebrendanrooney quickly helped, checked her over, and drove her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet narrowly missed her right eye by less than an inch.
I was really worried to hear about what happened to him, but he explained that a small piece of something got stuck behind his eye. Surgery is too dangerous right now to try and remove it, so doctors are going to keep a close watch on him. Thankfully, he says he can still see perfectly fine, which is a huge relief!
As a huge fan, hearing her speak just broke my heart and filled it with hope at the same time. She shared that she’s so thankful to still be with us, and her love for her daughters, husband, family, and friends is just beautiful. She said she literally saw her whole life pass before her eyes, and it really hit me – she’s right. We need to hug the people we love whenever we can, because things can change in an instant. It was such a powerful message, and I’m sending all my love to her and her family.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, even though it can be harsh, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” and receiving critical comments online, doctors began commenting on interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome – a condition often caused by high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Amy to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. She later learned she had a form of Cushing syndrome that would resolve on its own, which she called “the greatest news imaginable.” Amy is now relieved to be healthy and credits the online attention with leading to her diagnosis.

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald shared with ESPN how relieved they were, saying, “We feel very lucky, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms, unable to speak and experiencing drooping on the right side of her face. Although these symptoms eventually passed, she went to the hospital for evaluation. Doctors discovered she had a small blood clot in her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further testing at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). The blood clot had traveled through this hole and to her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it had become increasingly difficult for him to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, adding that while the situation was frightening and unexpected, he was going to be okay and she was thankful he was fine.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, Foxx explained that he suffered a severe headache one day while in Atlanta. Before he could take aspirin, he lost consciousness and doesn’t remember the next twenty days.
He initially saw a doctor who gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. There, doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.
Twenty days after surgery, on May 4th, Foxx woke up in a wheelchair unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the prayers he received, saying, “I needed every prayer.”

The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running in the first challenge of the NBC competition show.
Let me tell you, as someone who studies wellness and the mind-body connection, stories like this are incredibly moving. On a TV interview, this woman described a near-death experience after a traumatic event. She said her memory of the actual moment is hazy – she recalls the sound of a helicopter, a feeling of floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, she remembers darkness, followed by light, which is when she knew, deep down, that she had passed away. It’s a powerful reminder of how our minds process extreme experiences and the enduring connections we feel with loved ones.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where your body essentially starts to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the series, she experienced a sudden and severe headache while at the gym. She described collapsing and being violently ill, quickly realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.
A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, struggling to speak coherently.
Though she recovered and was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure initially failed, leading to a massive bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia Clarke is now fully recovered and says she is “at a hundred per cent.”

Oh my gosh, I’m so relieved to hear Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, is doing better! It was terrifying to learn she had a stroke back in January 2024, but thankfully her family was right there for her. She actually texted them a picture after it happened – can you imagine?! She told Will Marfuggi from TopMob News that everyone just rushed to her side, which is just… amazing. It ended up being a longer hospital stay than expected because of some other health issues too – she has lupus, and her kidneys were also failing, poor thing! But she says she’s doing great now! She had to work on getting her motor skills back, but honestly, considering everything, she sounds so strong and positive. I’m just so happy she’s on the mend – she’s an inspiration!

Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her 20s. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she revealed she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue, and digestive problems. Doctors offered various diagnoses, leaving her feeling confused and unwell.
Determined to find answers, Woodley combined traditional medical care with holistic and herbal remedies. This search for well-being lasted for a decade. The physical discomfort led to anxiety around food and, eventually, to struggles with body image and self-identity.
Ultimately, Woodley’s health improved, and she is now feeling very well. She shared that her condition resolved itself after a long journey, and she’s happy to be in a healthy place now.
