Insomniac Games started today’s PlayStation State of Play with a detailed look at gameplay from Marvel’s Wolverine. Fans haven’t seen much gameplay since the game was first announced in 2021, but with the release just a few months away, Insomniac is now giving players a better idea of what to expect.
The new trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine is over five minutes long and features a lengthy look at gameplay. A key takeaway is how violent the game appears to be, with Wolverine brutally tearing enemies apart several times during the demonstration. This results in a lot of blood and gore, covering both the enemies and Wolverine himself.
The new trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine revealed that Jean Grey will play a significant role in the game. She’s the first character besides Wolverine confirmed to appear from the X-Men. The presentation also hinted at several villains, including Sabretooth, Mystique, and Omega Red.
Along with the new gameplay reveal, Insomniac Games announced that you can now pre-order Marvel’s Wolverine. The game will cost $69.99 and is available for pre-purchase from multiple stores and the PlayStation Store. While there aren’t any special editions available yet, Insomniac and PlayStation may announce them in the future.
Insomniac concluded today’s presentation by confirming that Marvel’s Wolverine will be released on September 15th later this year. The game will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, and reports suggest it won’t be available on PC.
