Arc System Works is showcasing more characters for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, and this time, the focus is on the villains. Doctor Doom leads a team called the Knights of Doom, which also includes Magneto, Carnage, and the Green Goblin. You can see them in action in the new trailer.
Okay, so as a gamer, let me tell you, facing off against these villains is tough. Magneto is a classic – he’s always been a pain, using his powers to hit you from way off or right in your face. Then you’ve got Green Goblin, who prefers to stay back and just blow everything up. But Carnage? He’s a totally different beast – he’s all about getting in close for some seriously savage attacks, and he’s just…unpredictable. Honestly, even with all that, the real problem is the Champion. He’s going to make things incredibly difficult for the heroes, that’s for sure.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC on August 6th. Trailers have already shown off some of the teams players can use, including the Unbreakable X-Men (featuring Wolverine, Storm, Danger, and Magick) and the Fighting Avengers (with Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, and Black Panther).
In addition to online matches, the game features a story mode called Episode Mode. Here, both heroes and villains compete in a high-stakes tournament against a mysterious Champion, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Initially, some players wondered if this mode would be a purely cinematic experience, similar to Guilty Gear Strive. However, Arc System Works quickly confirmed that players will actively participate in battles throughout the story mode.
After the game releases, the Year 1 Character and Stage Pass will add four new characters to play as, along with a brand new stage.
