Update #2 [Tue 2nd Jun 2026, 10:10pm]:
The classic Lara Croft adventure, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, has been rebuilt with Unreal Engine 5 and will be released on PlayStation 5 on February 12th.
The latest trailer reveals redesigned levels from the original game, featuring locations like a lost valley in Peru and the ancient ruins of Greece.
The highlight for me? The return of dinosaurs – some of them feathered!
Players who purchase the Deluxe Edition of the game for $69.99 will be able to start playing 48 hours before everyone else, beginning on February 10th. The standard edition of the game will be available for $59.99.
Here’s what you get in each version:
Standard Edition ($59.99)
- Full Game
- Early Access Survivor Outfit
Deluxe Edition ($69.99)
- Full Game 48 Hours Early
- Early Access Survivor Outfit
- Early Access Parisian Fugitive Outfit
- Post Launch DLC Story Pack
Update #1 [Tue 2nd Jun 2026, 8:15pm]:
The upcoming Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is confirmed to be featured in today’s State of Play presentation. A release date has also been revealed ahead of the official announcement, thanks to a brief appearance of Steam pre-order codes on Amazon, spotted by a user on the Blue Sky platform.
Okay, so the big news is the game is officially coming out on February 12th, 2027! It seems like Amazon needed a little more time to polish things up, especially with GTA 6 already scheduled to drop on November 19th. It’s a bit of a wait, but hopefully, it’ll be worth it!
If you pre-order now, you’ll get the Survivor Outfit unlocked early – it’s designed after the look from the newer Tomb Raider games.
If you buy the Deluxe Edition, you’ll get early access to the game – 48 hours before everyone else! You’ll also immediately unlock the Parisian Fugitive outfit and receive a new story expansion after the game launches.
I’m so excited! A new trailer is coming out in just a few hours during Sony’s livestream, and you can watch it right here: [link to livestream]. I can’t wait to see it!
Five new images for the PlayStation 5 remake of Tomb Raider, currently titled Legacy of Atlantis, were mistakenly published on the game’s PlayStation Store page. This strongly suggests the game will be featured in today’s State of Play presentation.
The screenshots feature Lara Croft in diverse scenarios, including a confrontation with feathered dinosaurs – a detail that will likely thrill fans.
I really like how Lara looks in the game, and the buildings and environments in the new images are beautifully designed.
I was expecting to see the game announced at the State of Play event over the weekend, since the series has always been closely linked with PlayStation. It seemed very likely, and I now think it’s confirmed. I also believe we’ll find out when it’s coming out today.
As a long-time Tomb Raider fan, I’m so excited about Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis! It’s basically a fresh take on the very first game, and it’s being released to celebrate the series turning 30. And get this – they’re already planning a completely new game called Tomb Raider: Catalyst, which should be out next year. I can’t wait!
